Be careful about making a purchase as an unregistered user, you're treated like you're nobody!!!
Summary: The discussion concerns the importance of being a registered user when making online purchases, as acting as an unregistered user is compared to being "nobody's child," with potential risks or loss of benefits. The participants seem to continue the conversation without adding any further specific details about the content.
Good evening,
On 17/11 I placed an order and paid as a 'guest user' because I didn't have an Ebay account. I selected the most convenient pickup point:
FERMOPOINT Edicola
The goods were REJECTED by the 'pickup point'. I opened an Ebay account where I was assigned an ID, but in the history the order is NOT present, it only appears in the chat with the order number and I have started correspondence with the seller to find out something. In addition, I reported what happened to Ebay, but they address me with the ID from when I was a 'guest user' but send null tracking links. Moral of the story: 1) as a NOT registered user, no one from Ebay gets in touch. 2) as a registered user, Ebay has no orders and does not consider the chat with the seller, which drags on. 3) Simulating a new purchase, the fake Fermo point is still included. 4) 20 days after the payment made, no one does anything!

Fermopoints (all of them) do not handle shipments with registered mail
With posta1 shipments, you’re kind of rolling the dice.....
Buy as an unregistered user

I personally recommend registering on eBay.

OP1 year agoGood morning to you,
1) the pickup points can be selected as a 'pickup point' when placing the order and paying and they are on the Ebay platform... I expect truthful information to be provided since it is Ebay's platform, otherwise I would have had it sent home to the mailbox...
2) Posta 1 is not registered mail but rather 'priority mail'.
3) in my case the selected pickup point REFUSED to take the envelope...
So you can clearly see that luck has nothing to do with it here, it is intentional; moreover, none of the pseudo-help links lead to anything concrete since you get useless tracking links and in practice nobody takes charge of the situation despite the various reports. Nobody from Ebay gives you any feedback. I am only in contact with the seller who is waiting for the package to be returned to the sender!!!!

Fermopoints generally accept shipments handled by partner couriers, such as GLS, UPS, TNT, DHL, and others. However, they are not meant to handle traditional postal services, such as Posta 1 from Poste Italiane, since that is a standard postal service and not a courier service.
Posta 1 is a shipping service that follows the Poste Italiane network, so packages and letters sent via Posta 1 are delivered exclusively through the Poste Italiane network or to Poste Italiane partner points (such as post offices, "Punto Poste" lockers, or partner tobacconists).
If you want to use a different pickup service, you should rely on a courier that works with Fermopoint. I recommend contacting the Fermopoint you're interested in to confirm which shipments are accepted.
That said, have the seller read this, because they should know these things and they are directly responsible for the failed delivery.
Next time, register on eBay, I recommend it.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoGood evening to you, sorry to contradict you but the option to buy as a 'non-registered user' is a mode provided among eBay's options, it's not a favor they do for you, besides the fact that it's not inherent that you have to be okay with possibly getting ripped off... Point 2 Post 1 standard as shown in the attached photo is the shipping method provided by eBay's platform, if you click on Pickup Point the same eBay platform opens the other attached photo, where the various Fermopoints are indicated... then you proceed to payment... It's eBay's platform that gives you these mandatory steps... These screenshots were taken now by simulating a hypothetical new purchase of the item that never arrived to me... Which couriers GLS, UPS etc etc are you talking about???? For this purchase they are not selectable at all!!!!

As things stand, you're risking losing the item and your money, and I'm trying to show you that.
The fermopoint and posta1 issue has nothing to do with the fact that you bought as an unregistered user.
They are two different things.
You're the one saying that as an unregistered user you're having problems, and I'm suggesting that you register.
You have the right to open a dispute for item not received.
Open a dispute as an unregistered user, if you have problems contact support, if support can't help you register on eBay for future purchases.
I'm giving you advice / suggestions, you can keep your own point if you want, I don't need it, clear?
Keep the correspondence with the seller and, in a moderate and calm manner and keeping a low profile, try to get the item shipped to your home with posta1
If things don't work out with the seller, consider filing a PayPal claim or a chargeback if you paid by credit card.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoGood evening, it seems like you omitted to read some of the key points of what I had written. I signed up on the day of the missed delivery, that is, 5 days after the order, but another 17 days have passed... in any case per to be fair with the information, today, by setting out to 'open' all the nooks and crannies of the eBay platform, I found a way through. I should say that in my case, since I had placed an order and paid as an 'unregistered user', my order was not visible in the purchase history in the ID I made later, since the goods weren't arriving... In short, I found a way to get a human ^^ from eBay to call me, who opened a refund case number for me, they will check the 'pickup point's' actions, and I should receive my refund starting from Friday, so in 3 days. A cautious hooray until then, given that I had been waiting in vain for this stuff for 22 days now, and the seller, even knowing that sooner or later the goods would come back to him... was chatting with me telling me to wait, without lifting a finger to check, very strange that he couldn't, since the eBay operator read me the reason Poste wrote on the envelope for the missed acceptance by the 'pickup point'.

I'm glad you found a way to get in touch with eBay support and were able to get the refund.
Of course it's not your fault if the seller shipped with posta1 and the fermopoint refused the pickup.
eBay introduced the fermopoint system with the aim of improving its services, but after a couple of years you realize how many gaps there are in this delivery system.
With modern tracking, after 9 in the morning you can see whether the package is out for delivery (but not with posta1) and maybe it's better to arrange things differently by making sure someone is home or by using your office/shop or having it delivered to a friend's or relative's house.
Kind regards.
