I wanted to let anyone who uses Pack link know that Vintage items, even if you use protected coverage, are not reimbursed in case of shipment loss or theft, I have shipments that never arrived at their destination and this is the message they sent me - In practice, all items in the antiquarian and vintage category with a date greater than or equal to 50 years, technology with a date greater than or equal to 20 years, vintage items and clothing are not reimbursed. So anyone using this type of shipping can do without insuring the item; you will not be reimbursed

Unfortunately, we only realize (too late) these limitations when we’re faced with the unexpected after shipping.
I find the restriction regarding a stolen or lost package, where the broker literally washes their hands of it, excessive.
I could have understood a claim for damage....
Basically, most private sellers on eBay have items for sale that can be described as "vintage", so these rules are rather restrictive, and in exchange for saving on the price, you have to carefully weigh the pros and cons of eBay’s shipping provider.
Fortunately, there are other shipping brokers that offer similar rates and that do not have this type of limitation.
So before shipping an item, you have to decide whether it’s worth spending 1 euro more to be protected at least in the event of an item that is lost, missing, or stolen.

OP10 months agoThanks for the advice , actually since I started using ebay shipping this is the 2nd time that it’s happened to me that they reject the appeal , the first time a lost package containing tokens for vending machines ,they didn’t refund me because that item on ebay is sold in the coins category and even though it was clearly specified on the invoice they didn’t take it into account . going back to standard shipping isn’t convenient for the buyer . my post anyway was just to let people know who maybe like me took everything for granted and then finds themselves with a surprise , Best wishes and thanks

·10 months agoThere isn’t only ebay shipping, but there are many equally economical alternative services with fewer restrictions for vintage items, such as paccofacile.it, spediamo.it, sendabox.it and many many others.

OP10 months agoMy dear, before criticizing and pointing the finger at me, you should know my story. I am 67 years old and I have no income, I have no job and I still have to wait for my pension. The little I make on eBay, even if you see lots of items, lets me survive between bills and various expenses. I don't even know what vacations are; it's been over 20 years since I could afford one, and I make it to the end of the month tightening my belt. I don't know bars or restaurants or any extra expenses. The items I have for sale I accumulated when times were better; my job allowed me to save and put money aside, and luckily I did, because that is what lets me survive. I am not competing with anyone, let alone do I feel like a tax dodger. Could you live on 600/700 euros a month?
