Item delivered in another city
A package I was waiting for was delivered to Genoa instead of Rome, incredible but true. I must have a namesake. The seller washed their hands of it, saying it was a postal error. And how do I file a complaint? PS it would be useful to increase the number of uploadable attachments to at least 2... I also have the order one to send to Rome.

·8 months agoIt happened to me too! My package, instead, was delivered to Zurich in Venice! The seller washed their hands of it and eBay support is totally nonexistent! (in fact, I’ll be canceling my eBay account) .

·8 months agoIn your case, you could have been protected if you had opened the correct procedure.
You should have opened a claim for item not received and written in the notes that according to the tracking the package had been delivered to Zurich.
If your registered shipping address on eBay was in Venice, you would certainly have been right.
If during the dispute the seller had not stepped in to solve the problem, you should have asked eBay to intervene.
In case you had followed exactly the procedure I described to you and had received a negative outcome against you (sometimes that can happen), you should have appealed and contacted eBay support.
Anyway, if you paid with PayPal you can open a claim directly on PayPal, attaching the tracking as proof.
If instead you paid by credit card, you can ask your bank to start a chargeback procedure.
Kind regards

OP2 years agoIf anyone’s interested.. On WhatsApp the seller is insisting that I cancel the opening of the claim, which I had to do, at the post office they washed their hands of it even more than he did because 'it’s only 18 euros' honestly just stay away from this platform for buying and selling, it’s RIDICULOUS.

·2 years agoAnd you listened to him... over a WhatsApp message... you had to give in to him... why?
First of all it would have been better to communicate with him, asking for a copy of the shipping label where your correct address was shown... if he still didn't cooperate, you would open a report for item not received... and if needed, you would open an appeal to eBay...
This "ridiculous" platform can help you... you just need to know how to move.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoThe seller is responsible for shipping even if they have to ship to a house in a neighborhood
half destroyed by the bombings in Ukraine. You have to open a report with eBay for an item not yet delivered to the recipient. And after a reasonably acceptable waiting period. You don't have to ask
the seller for anything. It’s him who, as soon as he receives the freeze on the funds related to the transaction, takes action to see with the post office, opening a support ticket, where the hell the package ended up. If he doesn’t do it within three days of the eBay report and doesn’t contact you, he loses the whole thing. Do you understand ? Happy New Year.

·2 years agoThe same thing happened to me, and it wasn’t a mistake. The FRAUD report against the seller and the fact that I had ordered an electric razor and not a 35-kilo dresser delivered to another country and to another person weren’t enough for eBay’s Einsteins to get my money back to me. I had to take the report to the issuing bank of the credit card to finally get the stolen money back. After a couple of months the bank sent me a letter certifying that, in fact, I was right.
The carabinieri marshal told me that some sellers take advantage of the fact that in certain regions of Italy (coincidentally located in the South) fraud cases never go anywhere, guaranteeing impunity for thieves.
