Item shipped returned to sender
Good evening,
I bought an item from an American seller. After going through a few local post offices and ending up at a post office in Miami, due to some problem the shipment was sent back to the sender. What do you recommend I do? I contacted him and he replied that he spoke with eBay and they told him that I need to contact support and that way they will be able to provide him with a new label to send the shipment again.
What could have happened?
How do I open the case?
Thanks, see you soon

·2 years agoGood evening Gianmarco
If the shipment started in the USA and was headed to Italy did not pass customs inspection, the possible reasons may be:
1) He shipped an item containing hazardous material such as a lithium battery without activating the procedure required in these cases
2) The item cannot be imported
3) The documentation required by customs was insufficient / incomplete / missing.
4) Customs was not able to determine with certainty whether the item could be exported and, in doubt, they preferred to send the goods back.
For these likely presumed reasons the item went back to the sender.
From what you wrote, it seems to me that the seller has no idea what happened and so he will try to ship again but without correcting the problem.
So it is foreseeable that the package will be rejected again.
I advise you to open a claim for item not received as soon as eBay allows you to (usually at the end of the last useful day of the estimated delivery date).
So check when delivery is expected and starting the next day you can open an item not received claim, starting the process from here:

Best regards.

·2 years agoExactly, you can't open a dispute for item not received before December 13.
In this time frame the seller can, completely at their own discretion, try to ship it again or cancel the sale.
If the seller decides to try again with a new shipment, all you can do is wait and keep an eye on the situation through tracking, hoping that the second send goes through successfully
Best regards.

·2 years agoif it didn’t even leave the USA I think it’s more of a seller problem ...... so for safety you can contact support if needed, but in any case it would then be advisable to open an item not received dispute, obviously within the timeframes indicated in the eBay rules
