Item shipped via eBay with Postedelivery Business Standard has been in transit since June 22
Summary: milotemesvar bought an old battery for an iBook G3 on eBay and ran into delivery problems. The shipment was sent on June 22 and, after several moves, has been stuck in Bologna since July 1. He contacted Poste Italiane without getting any useful answers, and asks for advice on where he might be able to find the item. marioelegio suggests that the battery may have been discarded if it wasn’t labeled correctly, and advises requesting a refund on eBay. milotemesvar expresses concern about this possibility.
I bought an old battery for a 1999 iBook G3, so of course it’s been dead for decades. I need it to complete an old Mac iBook G3 that’s missing exactly that part.
The shipment was sent on June 22 and on June 25 it was in Modena, 17 km from the chosen pickup point in Sassuolo (the same one I’ve used for years for eBay purchases).
But it stayed stuck in Modena until July 1, only to then be marked in Sassuolo that very same day.
But it wasn’t delivered.
Since the night of July 1 it’s been in Bologna and hasn’t moved from there since.
I tried calling the Poste Italiane numbers (both the toll-free and the landline) but after waiting more than 15 minutes the operator told me they know no more than what shows up in the tracking, and that the sender has to file the complaint.
Can anyone tell me which warehouses or sorting centers in Bologna handle that kind of shipment?
Could I try calling, or would it be a waste of time?

·3 months agoIf they did a scanner check at the sorting center and if it wasn’t correctly labeled UN3480 it’s likely it was eliminated. They’re certainly not going to ask themselves whether the battery is charged or not.
If the time limit has expired, ask for a refund.

OP3 months agoThanks, I was afraid of this answer...

OP3 months agoNow I read in the tracking that the package is "being returned to sender", I really hope that's the case. IF the sender gets the spent battery back in their possession, what do they have to do to send it correctly?
What labels are required for batteries that have been dead for years? and do the post offices provide them, or do you have to print them yourself after downloading them from some website?
Anyway, I will have to file the report for non-received item, not much later than July 20.
