Package sent from France, marked as delivered, but nothing has arrived for me.
Hi, today I entered on the Italian postal service website the tracking for a package sent from France (with laposte.fr, colissimo).
Today it shows as delivered. But delivered where? To my address or to the post office branch from where maybe it still has to leave to be delivered to me?
It’s the Poste Delivery Europe service. It’s not clear because no one rang my doorbell, I didn’t see any package outside my house.
I think this is the first time this has happened to me in years of buying and selling. What should I do?
I’m asking because the seller has always been very kind, and he sent the package and everything. I paid with PayPal. But yeah, nothing has arrived for me. And so I’d like to somehow sort out the situation while avoiding 'getting the person who sold it to me in trouble'. Because it’s not his fault. But honestly it’s a bit annoying that it’s marked as delivered but I don’t have anything in hand...
My hope is that it’s a fake 'delivered' and that maybe they really weren’t able to deliver today (because maybe they ran out of time) and they’ll come tomorrow..

OP1 year agoThey delivered it to me today (not to me because I wasn't home, but to the person who was at home... they sent me a photo of the package).
What can I say, problem solved. But yes, the package was delivered today, certainly not yesterday as written on the site.
For me, what must have happened is that they had planned to deliver it, but they couldn't make it in time. But for convenience, evidently, they had marked it as already delivered before passing by.
With posta1, for example, this is something I notice very often. They mark it delivered at such and such time, I go check and the mailbox is empty. Then maybe they actually deliver it 2-4 hours later. The same thing must have happened evidently... oh well, the important thing is that I sorted it out.

·1 year agoUnfortunately, postal tracking has been changed for a few months now; it only shows the latest update and no longer the full history. Of course, it would be worth figuring out whether the package was delivered by the postman or by the postal courier service (SDA), and then act accordingly by contacting either the head of the local postmen or the courier branch.

OP1 year agoIt could be the courier..but I don't know how to figure it out. In any case, a month ago I also received a package from France but it was delivered by Bartolini and I had no problems. I also have the doubt that the tracking shows the arrival at the courier branch and not at my home. Meaning that the site could be 'inaccurate'. At least that's the hope.

OP1 year agoI would add that I still wouldn’t find it acceptable if the package had been delivered by leaving it unattended somewhere near my home. I tried to look for it but I didn’t see anything. Doesn’t a package like that require a signature? I don’t know, I’m fairly perplexed and annoyed..

OP1 year agoSure, but if they leave them somewhere where they can't be seen, that's a problem. Actually, the address wasn't mine, it was a friend's. This person lives in a place with some greenery around it, but there’s the house and next to it the workshop where they work. They could have left it by the door, or at the workshop right next door where this friend and other people were. On top of that, I was told they didn't see any couriers passing by (in theory, to maneuver and get out, they have to come in for sure). Because there are two possibilities: either they threw it somewhere, or it wasn't actually delivered (for example, with poste1 it happened to me often that it showed as delivered, but then I checked and there was nothing..and they delivered it hours later after marking it as 'delivered'). Maybe they didn't have time today with the delivery round..

·1 year agoAsk the seller for a copy of their shipping receipt.
If the code and address are correct, it means that the Italian postal service has certified that a package with that code was delivered to your address.
Ask the postal service for an explanation.

OP1 year agoOk now I'll ask the seller..in that case how should I contact the post office to ask for an explanation?
