Parcel, it's not clear what happened... attempted delivery elsewhere?
Summary: The discussion is about a package whose delivery status is unclear, and what happened to it is not clear. The authors discuss whether there was an attempted delivery to a location different from the one intended.
Hello everyone, I’d like some advice from you regarding this issue.
I’m supposed to receive a package with Postepay Standard Web "(RC code label)". In theory, the sender and I are from the same northern region. After several days with no updates on the tracking, and after repeatedly contacting Poste customer support, there was an update saying it was in a town in the province of Pianceza. I don’t understand why it took that route, and now there’s been this update in the tracking:
"Delivery unsuccessful. Contact support." I tried, but they say it has to be the sender who does it, and the problem is I’d also like to be informed at least a little... Has anything like this ever happened to you? How can it have ended up so far away in a town in another region?
Thanks
Basically, after a long time seeming stuck, it ended up in a tiny, isolated village

·1 year agoTo make the picture even clearer, I’ll show you this BRT screenshot.
As you can see, the sender of the shipment is not ME, but eBay.
So in case of problems I can’t contact BRT directly, but have to go through whoever sold me the shipment, in my case ebay-packlink.

OP1 year agoBy the way, I wonder if insured web delivery mail is a double-edged sword, because once you declare the amount and the contents, the crafty ones might be more inclined to do stuff like that if they see it’s something they’re interested in?

·1 year agoPacklink labels with Poste no longer declare the contents specifically to avoid making things easier for the not-so-honest types.
So I doubt the seller used Packlink to manage the shipment, but I think they relied on another shipping broker.
Anyway, I’m laying out this scheme to help you understand how package handling works through these shipping resellers.
Let’s pretend the shipping service chosen is Packlink, but it could be one of the many other services you find on the internet.
Sellers --> packlink --> poste italiane --> Recipient.
As you can see in this scheme, the one who "calls the shots" is packlink.
The seller can’t deal directly with poste
The buyer can’t do anything.
You have to go through packlink (no choice).
Kind regards

OP1 year agosorry but I've been reading about the broker issue for a while now and I don't understand what it is... can the concept be simplified somehow? From what I know, he went to the post office and shipped it and then gave me the tracking code. Who would the broker be in this case?

·1 year agoIf you go on Google and type "cheap shipping" you’ll find lots of websites for services that offer cheap shipping.
Instead of going to the post office, or to a BRT, DHL, UPS, TNT, GLS etc. drop-off point to send the package, the seller uses these services.
Why do they use them?
Because they SAVE MONEY.
A shipment by post costs 3 or 4 euros more.
A shipment with a courier can cost even 20 euros more.
What does the seller lose?
They lose DIRECT CONTROL over their shipment.
So for any problem they have to contact the shipping intermediation / brokerage service provider instead of directly contacting Poste Italiane or the courier.
I hope I managed to make myself clear.

OP1 year agoWe contacted the post office since he had dealt directly with them and they said that the package appears to have been tampered with. What a bitter feeling to know that there are thieves working at Italian Post too...

·1 year agoYou can’t ask the post office for anything, the seller has to do it.
So:
hi
mario
pokecard_93
OP1 year agoI asked the post office and they told me, and how, after I gave them the tracking code and the complaint that was filed (luckily the seller told me everything, because rightly so it is also my right to be informed about what the post office says, for transparency's sake).
Then of course he will be the one to formally take it up with the post office as the seller, but if you don't mind, I am also the first person harmed and, beyond the refund and the eBay/post office procedures that we will certainly follow, I wanted to know what happened to the package...
Now I know that at the Turin hub there are also thieves who give themselves gifts with our money

·1 year agoHi andcor-7725
You need to get in touch with the seller and first check whether they shipped to the correct address.
Have you checked that you wrote the address correctly on eBay?
If the address is correct, you need to tell the seller to open a support ticket or contact Poste Italiane to find out more.
Kind regards

OP1 year agoYes, the shipping address is all correct...we contacted postal support as it says on the tracking, but as usual they don't know anything...the seller told me they were told to send an email with the waybill to the address reclamiretail postacer. But I don't know what that means.
The fact is that according to the tracking it was out for delivery with an error in a little town in the center. I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and whether there were any ways of dealing with the postal service to speed up communication (I don't know, do you think it might be worth calling the post office where the delivery error was recorded?). The funny thing is that since the postedelvery is insured we also have phone numbers but no one was contacted about this error. So what are they for?

·1 year agoIf the seller bought the shipping label directly from Poste Italiane, then it’s up to them to contact Poste Italiane.
If the seller bought the shipping label through eBay’s shipping manager, which is handled by Packlink, the seller cannot contact Poste Italiane directly.
They have to contact Packlink through a support ticket.
Tell the seller that if they bought the shipping on eBay, they should go here: spedizioni.ebay.it log in with their account and, next to the shipping label related to you, open a support ticket.
Best regards.
