Package shipped to Poste point lost?
Yesterday I sent a package to the post office point as I usually do after downloading the shipping label, the problem is that on eBay it says the package never left, I never even actually got the message saying that the package had been scanned and they had taken charge of the shipment. This morning I went to the post office point in question to ask what had happened to the package I sent yesterday and they said they no longer had it and that maybe it had been sent out without being scanned. Meanwhile on eBay the person who bought from me can't see where their package is or anything. What are the chances that this is true and that they haven't simply lost my package? I'm a little worried.

·2 years agoTaking the responses received well into account, when I hear the words 'pickup point' in relation to Poste Italia's network of delivery points or any other service offered, I always feel my stomach tighten. I am inexplicably overcome by a sense of extreme insecurity. " Hello, is this the tobacconist for parcel pickup points? Huh? Ah! Yes, yes...Marieellaaa! Take the gentleman's parcel, I've got a line at the till! Huh?? The parcel to ship, hurry up! Just a second, I'm on the phone with Ketty! Here I am, give it to me, then we'll send it...'bye! ..Thanks, thanks, then I'm off! I'm off, eh! No answer." I don't know, maybe I'm just prejudiced.

·2 years agolately, if the courier is BRT, this kind of problem has been happening...... it might "reappear" on the day it is delivered ( obviously the check should be done first and foremost on the courier's website.... not on Ebay )

OP2 years agoSo the package doesn't arrive at its destination, you're saying? Or, as they say, they didn't scan it but it arrives at its destination?

·2 years agoThe package could also have been lost or maybe someone took it (many pickup points have packages visible to customers).
If the package was picked up by the courier anyway, tracking should be available in the late afternoon or the next day.
If you don't see any tracking from the tracking number, it means the package has not been handed over to the courier.
You have to hope the package turns up at the pickup point and gets put back out for delivery, otherwise........
Kind regards.

·2 years agoLook, anything could happen.....
You can't have a definite answer because there are a whole range of variables that could occur.
I'm just making some guesses / assumptions.
It could also be that the courier who comes to pick it up, if he notices an unregistered package, decides to keep it for himself........
Anyway, let us know if this package eventually turns up and/or gets delivered.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoNo one can give you a definite answer.
If it doesn't show up in the system because they haven't scanned it, it will be hard to sort it, and so sooner or later it will have to be handled by the postal service.

OP2 years agoThe thing is that up until now the parcels have always always been scanned within a few hours of when I dropped them off at the post office, but more than 24 hours have already passed since then now. The person who bought it, understandably, on eBay doesn't see the tracking when they enter the shipment code and is worried about it. It's the first time this has happened to me, has anyone ever had similar experiences that maybe ended up fine?

·2 years agoWhen you go to the pickup point, you usually leave the parcel there completely on trust, since no proof of receipt is issued for the pickup.
Paradoxically, the pickup point could claim not to have received any parcel at all.
Alternatively, you can ask the pickup point to scan the parcel in your presence.
The pickup point may refuse to scan the parcel immediately because for them it’s a waste of time, since they might prefer to do it directly in the evening before closing (some pickup points make the shipment lose a working day).
Or they might say that they’re busy at the moment.
You can ask how long it will take and maybe wait there; the operator, to get rid of you as soon as possible, might scan the parcel for you with a certain briskness.
Or you can simply go to another pickup point.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards.
