Packlink, pure incompetents AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
I buy the Packlink shipping service through EBAY, shipped with POSTE, never done it before and I think it will be the last time too. I also feel sorry for EBAY, which I thought was serious, but instead they rely on incompetents like this.
The package is sent off and the ordeal begins:
Shipment in storage due to missing incomplete data. I investigate and discover that the label that is printed automatically does not contain all the customer's details.
I ask for redelivery with the data corrected and they tell me that the carrier has lost the package and I am not entitled to any refund.
I call POSTE and they tell me that the package is actually in storage, but only Packlink can unlock the redelivery or return.

·2 years agoEbay and Packlink are two separate companies.
Packlink imports the data from Ebay.
Ebay could make system updates and generate errors and/or omissions during the shipping data import.
Usually, a private individual who buys a label online from the many shipping retailers does so by entering the recipient's details MANUALLY.
It is good practice to check the data generated by Packlink before clicking on BUY LABEL.
Because if you don't do it, then it happens that the seller has to take responsibility for it.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoClarifications:
- eBay and PackLink are two different companies: eBay integrated PackLink as a "suggestion" for shipping items, but it doesn’t force anyone to use it. You can choose other brokers or use a service you trust.
- When using the service, the labels are indeed generated automatically, but it’s good practice (especially if the shipment is abroad) to check that the automatically entered details match the address registered on eBay by the buyer.
- It’s true: only PackLink can have full control of the shipment. It is the "real" sender who purchased the service from the carrier (and that’s the case with all brokers). The parcel pickup took place at your home, but PackLink is the one managing everything, so you need to deal with their customer service.

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply.
In the end, it comes down to them saying the parcel is lost and the post office saying it's being held.
Packlink the parcel and behind you...
