Payments
Premising that, ever since the new payment system came into force I have always regularly received
every two weeks, as requested, the payment of my sales, this morning I received a communication from Ebay (?) asking me to verify two micro-deposits on my bank account and to update it, confirming it. Is this "phishing" or is it a legitimate request from the sales platform ?
Thanks, if someone can shed some light for me

·3 years agoIf you had already checked them, I wouldn’t trust this message. First of all, if the communication only arrived in the email inbox linked to the account but you can’t find it in eBay messages, it’s definitely phishing. Always check the URLs in the emails you receive carefully and compare them with those in previous emails (if you’ve kept them) that you know are legitimate.
In any case, to be safe, the main rule is to ask support directly.

If it didn’t ask you to set up micropayments the first time you entered the eBay IBAN, it may ask you for them later on.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoIf you have "received communication from ebay" you will also find it in your messages area and you will be asked to enter these amounts on a verification page when you access your sales page.
So if you actually received them in your bank account, I don't see where the phishing attempt could be.

·3 years agoGood morning,
if the communication has taken place and you can find a trace of it in your eBay, it may be an official communication; if instead you received it exclusively in your email inbox, I’d say it’s phishing.
After all, if you receive payments regularly, I don’t see the need to reconfirm it.
Anyway, if you have everything, a message to support can’t hurt:
