Payments blocked
Good morning, ebay closed my account and suspended the payments ( 550€), related to some sales, which the buyer did not dispute at all; in fact he told me that he was suspended too. It has now been 21 days and given the impossibility of speaking with a human operator, I think I will hardly see this money again. Has it already happened to any of you that ebay pockets the entire amount of a sale? considering the amount I can't turn to a lawyer ( it would cost me more) . Can you point me to a consumer association that could help me solve the problem at the lowest cost? I know some associations work on a percentage basis, do you know how much the percentage is? has it already happened to any of you to have to turn to third parties to get the money?? Thanks to whoever will reply to me

Have you checked whether ebay's rules allowed you to list certain items for sale?
If you didn't, and you listed prohibited and/or not allowed items, you were definitely blocked for this reason.
The fact that the buyer was also suspended makes me suspect something whose sale was forbidden.
But only you can know what you listed for sale and in what manner.
Try doing some research and take a look at the rules, and you will probably be able to find out the reason for this block on your own.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoI don't know if by law she's required to do it, I can only tell you that she did it for me, but considering the amount they unjustly pocketed (€2.50) I let it go. I hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I don't think you'll ever see your money again.

OP3 years agoPazan5580 thanks for your reply, if it did it with you that means it can do it, for €2.50 I’d let it go too😁 do you know any external forums besides this eBay one where I can explain my problem?? and hear other opinions? thanks.

·3 years agoGood morning,
talking to a human is very easy... you can ask to be called back at the phone number you registered on eBay, just read this link all the way to the end:
Contact eBay | eBay
If eBay has closed your account for some reason, you need to resolve the reasons in order to get your earnings.
Since eBay is a private site with very specific rules, if you break them it makes no sense to turn to lawyers... you will have to justify the improper use yourself, and often it is not at all worthwhile (you could really get hurt!)... if they blocked you, you must have done something...
Try reading the following links, maybe they can help you:
Account restrictions and suspensions | eBay
Pending payments | eBay
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoSurely I think I did something that they consider not correct, fair enough, but I’d like to know what, since in the eBay email they only tell me that my account has been permanently suspended due to activity that we consider risky for the eBay Community. I’m not interested in getting my account back (I normally sell on other sites) while for the money I’m pretty pissed off. Since I can’t talk to anyone at eBay, neither in person nor via chat, (and please sika700 don’t keep insisting with those links) I simply wanted to ask if it has ever happened to anyone that eBay, for the reason given to me in the email, kept the entire amount, or if there is a deadline by which they are forced to unlock the payments due to me, or force the buyer to return the goods to me (which they received regularly and did not dispute) In short, is eBay, if it finds something improper in its view, authorized to take the entire amount of the sale for itself???? yes or no???

·3 years agoEbay is certainly not authorized to take the amount for itself, but it can block it. The fact that both accounts have been suspended and that there is no longer any trace of the listing makes one think of a serious violation (at least that’s what they might think).
Really, those links do work.... then you might end up with a call center operator who isn’t able to help you or who doesn’t understand Italian very well. I’d recommend using the chat.
If you are absolutely sure about the legality of what you sold, the cheapest way to file a complaint is through AGCM (for unfair commercial practices in the relationship between you and ebay). You can open the case directly online...... https://www.agcm.it/segnala-online/index (Personalmente ho fatto ricorso al garante solo per una controversia con la mia compagnia telefonica e la soluzione era stata rapida e soddisfacente).

·3 years agoWithout a "I believe"... if ebay has suspended you indefinitely, you have definitely carried out risky or prohibited selling practices... it would have been appropriate to write directly with the accused account, since you opened this one today... and it is still possible to access the suspended account!
I won't keep insisting on the links... and personally for TWO days now I've contacted support using those exact links and they replied both times... solving the problem.
In any case, as I said, if you violate the site's rules, ebay is authorized to block your funds until the problem is resolved... which was written հենց in those links indicated... and which you also accepted when you signed up, confirming everything written in the user agreement.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoDear sika700, don't take it personally; unfortunately I can't write on the forum with my closed account (see image), since you say you can do it, and you also speak with support every day. I don't know whether my computer is old or whether I'm the one who's handicapped, in any case I believe it would be more correct for eBay to specify the reason for closing the account when it sends you the email, but as I said before, I don't care about the closed account. Let's suppose I sold items at a price higher than their value, or that I shipped counterfeit goods, or stolen goods, or even that I didn't ship the goods, or something else....... and that the buyer not only received the goods, but DID NOT OPEN ANY DISPUTE what happens if I can't speak with support, or justify my sale?????
1) does eBay keep the money and the buyer keep the items?
2) does eBay force (I don't know how) the buyer to return the items and give him the money back?
3) is there a time limit for solving this problem after which it expires and everything stays like this.

·3 years agoI’ll start by saying that there’s nothing personal about it... heaven forbid, my account is still active... so I don’t have any problems on that front...
A suspended account is not banned... you can still access it, but you can’t do anything with it... I’m not the one saying it, eBay itself is.
The reason for the lifetime suspension is clearly stated in the image you attached: you violated the site rules... note the site rules (not the site rule!), so this points to an ongoing pattern of violated rules... a series of listing removals, for example, for the same reason.
The list you made can well show the causes... and if the buyer received the item, it’s not the buyer who reports the rule violation, but eBay that monitors your account and your behavior.
So, to answer your questions:
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoDear sika700, I don't understand, you are obviously sure that ebay will keep my money (point 1), you say that my items will not be returned to me (point 2), point 3 I have to ask support when all this is over. But with answers 1 and 2 you made me understand that it's already over for you (and for ebay). So all that's left for me is to wait for an email from ebay confirming that for them this operation is concluded and that my suspended payments will be used to try to offset the continuing losses in revenue and customers. I at least hope they have the courtesy to let me know so I can at least stop hoping to get my money or my items back. Thanks for your answers for now, we'll update each other in a few days if there are any developments.

·3 years agoWith ebay, nothing is certain... in point 1 you ask "does ebay keep the money and the buyer keep the items?"... maybe it would have been better to split the question in two... if you don't solve the problems related to your account, probably yes... and yes!
You need to understand that the person replying to you on the forum is not an ebay employee, I'm part of the community just like you are, so our answers can't be absolutely certain, only support can give you definite information... but if you wait for them to contact you, you could wait in vain... that's why we invite you to contact support...
Kind regards.

·3 years agoLet's take a practical example.
If I, as the seller, put some Beretta ammunition up for sale and a buyer pays and buys it, what happens is exactly what happened to you.
The seller is suspended, the funds are blocked, the auction is closed, and the buyer is suspended.
Now it is up to you, the seller, to carry out all the necessary checks before filing an appeal, just as marioelegio told you.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoHi alessduv_10, if it can be any comfort to you, exactly the same thing happened to me. Same reason: my account was suspended permanently due to activity they consider risky for the eBay Community.
I’ve been selling on eBay for almost a year now, and I’ve never had any problems with any customer. 100% positive feedback, no customer has ever disputed anything with me because at the first complaint I would either take the product back at my own expense and refund them, or refund them directly.
the only difference is that they held a slightly higher amount from me
24,270.64 euros
Today the only slightly less evasive answer was that they will keep the amount for 170 days to protect themselves from any customer disputes.
obviously I’m not stopping here because I can’t wait six months to get my money back, in fact I’m also considering criminal complaints, since the blocking and suspension of my account were done completely arbitrarily without ever explaining precisely which rule I had violated, but I’m sure I didn’t violate any rule. In one of the many replies they sent me, they also wrote that they closed my account because of the presence of items that violate eBay’s rules and that could cause eBay costs in terms of legal action. The items I was selling are the same ones sold by millions of sellers on eBay, including Samsung-branded smartphones.
so if their decision to close the account was arbitrary, any disputes with customers will have to be handled with their own money and not with mine, since I have never experienced any of these disputes
