Payments stopped after changing IBAN from Bancoposta to Fineco
Summary: The discussion focuses on payment problems that arose after arturo-collections changed the IBAN from one associated with Bancoposta to one from Fineco. Several participants, including cizeta1964 and heavenwelkin, contributed to the conversation, but the specific details of their responses were not provided. Additional input from deep-treasures and daxsisko was added to the discussion, suggesting complexity in the shared experiences. No concrete outcome is mentioned in the discussion itself.
Good morning, I opened this account a few months ago (I already have one that’s over 20 years old, amerigo-collections). At first I had to wait 3 months for incoming payments to become regular, given eBay’s rules and checks. Anyway, even though I had a Bancoposta account, some bank transfers didn’t come through even though the email statement arrived, and they would show up the following month.
So far so good.
Last month I changed my IBAN, moving from Bancoposta to Fineco.
Since May 5, 6 transfer emails have arrived (we sent you the payment...) but they have never arrived in the current account.
After several calls to Fineco and four to eBay, where they had me remove and re-add the account, and after verifying that the micro deposit went through, nothing changed.
In the meantime, other amounts have also come in and, on the contrary, have remained blocked.
So I find myself with 6 bank transfers totaling about 350 euros floating around the planet and another 350 or so stuck “while they’re verifying the account....”
In cases like this, is there any way to file a complaint and get a proper answer from competent staff?
If I were to change the IBAN again, for example to Revolut, would I mess things up even more?
PS: the Fineco account shows as set up correctly in my account; I’m saying this to avoid replies that don’t address the problem, which is a glitch in eBay and its support not being able to resolve the issue.
Thanks to anyone who can give me a solution.

·2 months agoHi, give it a try and change the IBAN again, go back to Poste Italiane and then let me know. As for the rest, don’t take it personally for the replies or for customer service, since they often don’t even know what to say themselves. Regarding DAC7, don’t worry either, because you could sell a house, so to speak, and hand it over, then eBay does nothing more than send your transactions to the tax authority, which will assess it; you’re not selling anything suspicious, and it seems to me you’ve already described well enough who you are and what you do, so relax.
Let me know and happy selling!

·2 months agoIf eBay’s official support can’t solve a problem with your account, coming into a discussion group of eBay users (buyers/sellers) who, with all their experience, patience and goodwill, do not have the same tools as support to carry out the necessary checks, and saying that “we don’t know anything” is not, in my view, the smartest response to give.
As for customer service, who knows how many operators working from home, from foreign locations, have ever really had anything to do with eBay as buyers / sellers.
The eBay forum remains a PRECIOUS resource, and all the searches on Google, as well as eBay’s information pages, lead directly to discussions in this forum.
As for the DAC7 issue, in my humble opinion, it is one of the many brilliant inventions coming out of Brussels, potentially INTERESTING but left there with many doubts and uncertainties.
After 2 years, no one really knows how to behave, not even industry professionals, who in case of doubt advise their clients to declare even the sales of completely “legitimate” personal items.
eBay already has systems capable of detecting whether a seller is making professional sales or whether they are a private seller with MANY of their own personal items.
The DAC7 limit of 30 annual sales or 2000 euros only creates confusion and fear in a market of private sellers that here on eBay is already in crisis for various other reasons.
Best regards and welcome to the community.
arturo-collections
OP2 months agoActually the DAC creates confusion, anyway I went to an accountant and he said that if they’re your things and you can prove you bought them, they certainly can’t expect you to pay for something that’s already yours, and if in the end you make a profit, a capital gain, you declare it and pay, I don’t remember the percentage right now and that’s it.
As for the rest, if I hadn’t changed IBAN I would’ve had my money stuck because none of support found the solution and you’ll see I’ll have to go through hell for those 350 euros in six transfers sent to Fineco, stuck in who-knows-what eBay limbo, if I sort this out too I’ll report it back here, thanks anyway for the intervention.
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoAn accountant who gives you the green light to put 5000 DVDs up for sale in spite of DAC7, I’d really like to meet.
Maybe you spoke to an accountant as a friend, but definitely not as a client asking for advice.
Let’s thank user deep-treasures, who came out of nowhere to back up arturo-collections.
Best regards.
arturo-collections
OP2 months agoI really paid him for the consultation, who are you to question the work of an accountant?
Let’s take an example, I don’t know how old you are, if I or some random person owned a vinyl collection, for example, or watches or even whatever someone has bought over a lifetime, who do those things belong to? Without beating around the bush like professional salespeople do, if I decide to sell everything in my home, my family’s, and these are my things or my loved ones’ things, why should I pay taxes I’ve already paid if I don’t have an active gain? Also, I already told you that in the case of a capital gain you declare it and pay, can you explain where this hostility comes from? If I say I went there, that I even asked whether, to be on the safe side, it was better to open a VAT number and he said no, must I have necessarily found an idiot or just someone who thinks differently?
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoSo a chartered accountant who provides tax advice on sales made through digital platforms should certainly take it into account.
Did you tell your accountant that you sell sealed DVDs for up to 150 euros?
That you have 5000 DVDs to sell, some priced above 100 euros?
Are these DVDs priced above 100 euros sold at the same and/or lower price than what they were bought for (the purchase receipt is proof), or are they sold at a higher price?
Because in the event of any checks, you will have to prove that your uncle gave you those DVDs and/or have the purchase receipts to prove that you bought them yourself over the years.
Otherwise, since they were given to you and you will make a lot of money from them, you could consider declaring them and paying a small amount of tax on them so you can be at ease and sleep soundly at night.
Anyway, I am one of the least intrusive users on these issues, and if we have come to discuss DAC7, it is because both you and the user deep-treasures turned out to be particularly SENSITIVE and in SYMBIOSIS on the DAC7 issue.
You were the ones who brought up the issue of being under scrutiny, the accountant, DAC7, etc.
Kind regards

·2 months agoHello heavenwelkin, this is what the original poster wrote about a week ago, when he started with his requests:
Sorry, but do you read the information eBay gives about sellers? You can have sales volume of up to 15,000 euros or a certain number of listings with a certain value per month. And you’re surprised by 1,000 euros in 4 months?
cizeta1964
·2 months agoAnd further down, still in the same post:
remembering that the other account for more than 20 years has bought and sold, as a private individual, for sums you can't even imagine.
Could the accountant be Topo Gigio by any chance?
arturo-collections
OP2 months agoHere I am, the dac7 came out from the witty user, he seems to be in symbiosis with you too, or maybe he's looking for support.
I avoid replying to him because he's pathetic.
Of course, though, better to stay calm and in fact next year I'll do what needs to be done with the 730 but, I remind not you, that the question was why the money was blocked and not whether Topo Gigio is my accountant. They’re right when they say boomers are tiresome.

OP2 months agoYes of course, everything shown including 3500 pages of purchases by my uncle over about 20 years

OP2 months agoAs fate would have it, on Friday I decided to put back the previous IBAN, and guess what, this morning I got the notification that the balance transfer had been sent, and around 7 it had already gone into Poste.
Now I’ll have to check the transfers that had already been sent to the Fineco account and call support to see about changing the IBAN because, in fact, they’re still stuck and everything got blocked when the account was changed. There wasn’t any check in progress, just the system getting stuck when I changed it from Poste Italiane to Fineco!!
And yet no one in support was able to sort this out, that’s the reality.
Thanks, if your reply had come earlier I wouldn’t have spent a month with my money blocked and, above all, without knowing why.

OP1 month agoHi, here I am to wrap up the discussion, it was a technical issue, apparently unknown and automatic, and it got solved by putting the previous IBAN back; in fact, the credit arrived about 36 hours later and, magically, after a couple of days the six transfers showed up on Fineco. Obviously, who feels like changing IBAN again, for now I'll stick with the old one and we'll see. So that was the solution and probably a final intervention by an assistant who didn't see any kind of blockage, just a technical error.

OP2 months agoIn a nutshell, you don't know anything and your minds are wandering between hypotheses and suspicions.
cizeta1964
·2 months agoIn short, you know nothing
And you, on the other hand, despite an account over 20 years old with which you've sold for unimaginable amounts, came here to ask a very modest community of users because on your own you're not capable of solving your problem, what do you know?
Not much apparently, anyway you just wait patiently for the perfect answer - the one neither you nor eBay know - to arrive and solve everything for you.
cizeta1964
·2 months agoEdit: in my opinion, given the stature of the person, the education, open-mindedness, empathy and above all humility, Pierre Omydiar himself will come straight to answer you in the community, and maybe he’ll even bring the money directly to your house.

OP2 months agoOn eBay, like everywhere else, there are people who are suffering, and that is well known.
I am 30 years old and the account that is over 20 years old belongs to my mother; as fate would have it, she received an email from eBay about updating the details, which was promptly done. Think everything goes fine for 20 years, then I write a post and a check arrives.
Maybe someone read it and took offense at crazy sales without realizing that over a lifetime you buy a lot of stuff and resell it; in fact, it is eBay itself that suggests reselling purchases made years ago, showing the shoes, the amplifiers bought with the wording resell them!
If I bought a brick or 1000 bricks and can show that I already paid taxes on them by having bought, used, and no longer needing them, I do not become a professional seller if I resell them and, if I made a profit, I would pay the tax on the capital gain accumulated (in response to your dac7), we are not all thieves, so the question was something else and had nothing to do with dac, many items and more also because it will be the Italian tax authorities that one may eventually have to answer to and certainly not eBay, which is the one that tempts you with 150 free monthly sales, the famous bricks that in a lifetime I may well have accumulated even more of. And it is not up to you to make laws or spit out imaginary verdicts since you know nothing about me or my loved ones, or to make unfortunate little jokes. And here I stop.
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoA user makes a simple joke and you turn it into a movie....
No wonder you collect films...
You crammed a lot of things into a single post....
The arturo-collections account was registered on February 11, 2026
In the information you write: Arturo's collections, in this virtual showcase I am selling the collection of 5000 DVDs that my uncle Alvaro donated to me and that, with patience and dedication, he collected over about 25 years of passion for films passed down from my grandfather.
5000 DVDs are a lot and eBay provides "only" 150 free items per month, so to list them all it will take 33 months
I don't know what your mother’s 20-year-old eBay account has to do with it and all the rest of what you wrote, but fine.
Best wishes and happy selling.
cizeta1964
·2 months agoAnd it’s not for you to make laws or spit out imaginary verdicts
Yes, it’s called “expressing one’s opinions,” the very word community suggests it, otherwise it would have been called something else...
Think everything through for 20 years and I write a post and a check arrives.
It must be someone who read it and took offense at crazy sales without realizing that in a lifetime you buy a lot of stuff and resell it, in fact it’s eBay itself that suggests you resell purchases made years ago, showing the shoes, the amplifiers bought with the note resell them!
Reports to eBay are not anonymous, so if your account has been reported, as you say, you can easily have eBay tell you who and for what reason.
I think Omydiar blew it... 😂

·2 months agoThe solution to your problem has already been provided to you.
1) It can't be ruled out that there's a technical problem between ebay and fineco, so if you want to clear up this doubt, update the account with another IBAN from a different bank in your name.
2) If changing the IBAN doesn't solve the problem, then you need to contact the relevant technical department. If you've already contacted the Italian technical department without being able to solve the problem (after ruling out that the problem is not with fineco), you need to contact German technical support.
Kind regards.
arturo-collections
OP2 months agoThe Italian department said, after being told that a community user suggested calling eBay Germany, that this is not correct. The technician in question filed a complaint and received a response. I put the previous IBAN back because everything started with the IBAN change.

·2 months agoPeople come to the eBay community for various reasons, to ask for information, to share information, to inform, to solve problems with eBay.
This is not eBay support.
eBay support has operators who are trained to follow certain protocols and guidelines.
And it is logical and normal that there are certain procedures to follow.
Telling eBay Italy support that they need to contact eBay Germany doesn’t seem like the most sensible or logical thing to do.
Simply, if you’re able to do it, DO IT; otherwise you make do with what you’re given.
Question: Were you able to solve the problem you had with the credits you had with the Fineco IBAN?
These discussions remain in the archive and are also useful to other users who may in the future encounter problems similar to yours.
If you don’t mind, after entering and verifying another IBAN and everything has gone back to normal, can you confirm whether the problem was actually with the Fineco IBAN.
Kind regards.
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoIf you have already contacted eBay support several times without managing to solve the problem, to unblock the situation you need to turn directly to whoever handles financial management, namely eBay Germany.
On eBay Germany things work differently because there are many more operators with the right level of "powers" who can check and sort out your situation with the bank transfers.
The problem, though, is that on ebay.de communications take place in German.
If you don't know German, you can't possibly use English instead, but you'll need to use a translator.
Then I don't know what communication channel you can get, if you can communicate by email or by chat maybe you can do something compared to a phone call in German.
On ebay.de you have far fewer difficulties (language permitting) getting directed to the right department to speak with someone who has the proper permissions to handle your case.
In any case, let us know if you manage to solve it.
Good luck.
cizeta1964
·2 months agoHi heavenwelkin, in my opinion the problem is also the 2nd account, more than 700 items for sale in the 1st and more than 500 in the 2nd, and eBay may have "flagged" it.
arturo-collections
OP2 months agoI had actually contacted them explaining that I already have an account with many more items and asking if I could change the username, then what do you want me to do to make them suspicious, I sell DVDs, not anything weird, everything is described, this comment makes no sense, a seller has the option to list 150 items a month if they're a private seller, so it's just a matter of doing the math.
cizeta1964
·2 months agothen what do you want me to make them suspicious of,
The amount of items for sale
I sell DVDs, not weird stuff
No one talked about weird stuff, just sales volumes (DAC07)
it’s all explained, this comment makes no sense,
You too, another one who asks questions and decides what the answers should be?
a seller has the option to post 150 listings a month if private, so just do the math.
We need to see what kind of calculations eBay is making

OP2 months agoSorry, but do you read the information that eBay gives about sellers? You can have a sales volume of up to 15,000 euros or a certain number of listings with a certain value per month. And you're surprised by 1,000 euros in 4 months?
First of all, you replied to the other user and not to me, and if I'm looking for support I'm not looking for guesses from someone who maybe doesn't know much, and let me remind you that the other account has been buying and selling, as a private individual, for over 20 years, for amounts you can't even imagine. I repeat, if you read carefully, the payments were arriving with bancoposta, problems arose when the IBAN was changed, 6 bank transfers were sent but never arrived. If there had been problems they would certainly have contacted me or told me something during the four calls and tomorrow, for sure, the fifth.

This is absolutely false, you should inform yourself about DAC07, which moreover does not depend on the - messed up - information given by eBay, but is a law.
If there had been any problems, they would certainly have contacted me or told me something during the four calls and tomorrow definitely the fifth.
Even this is highly debatable, knowing the level of eBay support.

OP2 months agoCan you answer my question or not?
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoHi cizeta
Honestly I haven't even looked at his accounts.....
If the user says that from the emails everything is OK / everything is regular regarding the correctly sent credits, I don't think the problem can be due to the items for sale; otherwise they would have warned him in case of limitations on his account.
I think the user made procedural errors, such as the correct verification of the account with the micro credits, or something went wrong in the update process with the new IBAN.
These are problems that only an operator with elevated privileges could fix, I don't know what kind of answers he expects to get by interacting on a forum of simple eBay users.
It is not ruled out, however, that there could be a specific problem with Fineco and foreign bank transfers coming from eBay.
Nowadays everything is automated and call centers are able to have less and less impact when technical problems arise.
As an alternative option, he could try changing bank account.
cizeta1964

OP2 months agoHi, it’s not as if whoever answers is Italian; on none of the 4 calls did an Italian person answer, and they all put me through to whoever handles the bank transfer section, but they weren’t able to solve it, and if there had been any problems they would have said so.
heavenwelkin
·2 months agoIf you call Italian support, a non-Italian operator answers (but I don’t think this is relevant to the quality of the support).

Alternatively, try entering another IBAN in your name and see what happens.
Good luck.
