International chronopost particularities - Italian Post
I wanted to share this little thing, which is a bit inconvenient for me, to find out whether it was an error on eBay's shipping center or whether with Crono Internazionale there's simply no way to choose.
I really like shipping parcels by dropping them off at the various couriers' drop-off points instead of waiting for the courier to come by at some random time. However, for Crono Internazionale, the eBay shipping center never gives me the option to choose (only home pickup is available, unlike all the other couriers). Usually all couriers are more than happy to only have to stop at the drop-off point rather than go house to house, so I thought this could be a missing option within Packlink rather than something decided by Poste Italiane.
Has anyone ever tried other shipping brokers and noticed the same thing? Just trying to understand whether it makes sense to inform Packlink about the missing option or whether it's officially the same for everyone.

OP3 years agoI confirm that Italian Post only provides home pickup for international Chrono because it is a service designed more for picking up parcels from companies rather than for the convenience of private individuals.
Anyway, having used it during the week, another doubt came to mind that I had forgotten to add to the initial post.
Another thing that reassures me about the post office counter is that I receive a message confirming the deposit, which proves that I left the parcel in the hands of the post office in case something should happen. When the courier comes to my home, on the other hand, I don't receive anything as proof that I handed over the parcel and I have to hope that the tracking starts normally during the day. I've never had any problems, but is that really how it should be? If one time the tracking didn't start, the post office could dispute the fact that, for them, nothing appears as delivered and I would actually have nothing in hand.
I know these are extreme cases, but I always prefer to learn in advance rather than be caught off guard sooner or later.

·3 years agoYou can print a duplicate waybill or some waybills; it's still предусмотрed that there is a copy you can keep as a receipt.
When the courier comes to pick it up, you can ask them to sign your copy of the waybill, which you will keep as proof of the pickup having been made.
Best regards.

OP3 years agoI'll try writing to him then, you never know, it turns out it can be done somehow and it might be more convenient for many

·3 years agoGood morning, the only thing you could do is write to Packlink to find out whether they will implement this option in the future. As for other brokers, sorry, but I can't answer since I haven't used them. Have a nice day.

The international tracked shipping provided by ebay+packlink does not include delivery of the parcel to the post office or a Poste point.
The only option is to wait for the parcel to be picked up at home.
As for other brokers that offer a shipping service directly to private individuals, I am not aware of any better rates than those offered by eBay's shipping provider as far as international tracked shipping is concerned.
Kind regards.
