Why does the "free pickup" option appear if I didn't select it in the settings?
Could someone explain to me why the option ''free in-store pickup'' appears in my listings?
I selected only the shipping method and no pickup; besides, I don’t have a shop, neither virtual nor physical
and I could only ship to the buyer’s address, thanks

·3 years agoYes, it can be removed.
From the Ebay Home page, go to the top left where it says "Hi yourname" and from the small drop-down menu that opens, click on "Account settings".
Under "Sales" go to "Shipping settings".
On this page you’ll have the first option, which is the one you need, namely
"Pickup point" click edit on the right and disable the pickup point.
If you ever need it again in the future, you’ll just have to re-enable it!

·3 years agoOk, having established that it can be removed... but evidently eBay treats sellers at different levels with various active options differently... in my listings I have Pickup Point active, yet the wording "Free store pickup" doesn’t appear...
Another eBay mystery...
Best regards.

·3 years agoYou can do this too.
You need to go to the shipping rules and from there choose whether to add only local pickup or also local delivery.
Always go to "Hi yourname" at the top left > account settings and this time choose the Sales Rules Manager.
Now here it can be a problem if you've never used\created "Sales Rules Manager"; if you have already used it, you just need to choose one of the rules you created, then go under National Shipping > Services, open the drop-down menu and at the bottom there's "Local pickup".
If you've never used the rules, I recommend practicing because at first it might not be intuitive.
Basically, when you create these rules, they are available to you when you list an item and under Shipping you choose the rule you created.
I hope I was helpful because it seems harder than it is!
Keep in mind that I looked into it based on your input and out of curiosity

·3 years agoUnfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case... if you offer local pickup, the Pickup Point is automatically removed... and so it can be deduced that it is linked neither to the Pickup Point nor to local pickup...
So I’ll repeat my statement: "more eBay mysteries!"
Best regards.

·3 years agoYou need to activate both the pickup point in Shipping Settings and add the rule in Sales Rules Manager by entering Pickup from seller and cash payment.
Here it is, just done:

·3 years agoI always have the pickup point active... by default... and the rule was changed to pickup in the area... and the result described above is...
Oh well... never mind...
Best regards.

·3 years agoI forgot, have you also tried from:
Sales Rules Manager
to edit directly the rule that concerns payment instead of the rules that concern shipping?
By default it’s called "eBay Managed Payments" with a series of numbers and letters
try opening that one and check:
"Local pickup from seller and cash payment"
and save, of course.
This rule is the one that appears at the bottom in a new listing we are creating and is written in green in the last item, namely "Payment".

·3 years agoThis procedure is rather cumbersome and not immediately accessible.
I’ve never wanted to deal with this whole rules thing either, because I see it as too professional a setup and not suitable for a private seller like me.
eBay, for economies of scale, now adopts this kind of advanced and professional approach for all users.
A private seller who has to sit down and study how the rules manager works is like asking a user who bought a PC to browse the internet to learn how the configuration registry works and how to manage advanced settings.
In a little while we’ll see (if there aren’t already) people offering advanced courses for managing and optimizing how eBay works.
Anyway divfol_87, I don’t know if this is your first seller account on eBay, but I want to congratulate you because despite your few feedbacks I can see that you’ve already delved deep into eBay’s mechanisms.
And that’s certainly not something everyone can do.
Best regards.

·3 years agoBut, I repeat...
THEN YOU MUST GIVE UP THE PICKUP POINT FUNCTION.

·3 years agothe listings would be displayed like this:

·3 years agoI think it can be removed, I did it a few months ago at the expense of removing the fermopoint function.
If the user is interested, I can go back and review the procedure.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoUnfortunately, it's a new wording from eBay... it can't be removed.
At least now it's written in black; recently it was also written in bold red!
Kind regards.
