As a buyer, the credit card is one of the required methods to be able to pay for purchases, before it was possible to link the eBay account to a Paypal account for payments (for the Paypal account it was enough to link a simple postepay card to withdraw the funds needed for payments).
Now for new accounts, opened after the change in the rules for payments on eBay, I think it is no longer possible to link a Paypa,l account because if I remember correctly it will be eliminated by 2023 for buyers too.
I forgot... you've been registered since 2020, so if you had linked a Paypal account to the eBay account you can use Paypal as a payment method as long as it is maintained.
