PACKLINK PLATFORM, EBAY'S SHIPPING MANAGER, DOES NOT REFUND SHIPPING COSTS
Hello, lately some parcels shipped from Italy to the USA have been lost at US customs. One wasn’t reimbursed at all because the customer reported the non-delivery on the thirty-first day after pickup, and packlink doesn’t handle claims beyond the thirtieth day, so there goes about a hundred euros.
So now every day I check the status of the shipments and as soon as they go past a day late I file a claim for undelivered parcel and in fact, a parcel that was always lost at US customs was reimbursed to me, but only for the value of the goods on the invoice, not the 25-euro shipping.
Now I understand that in general international shipments don’t affect everyone, but they can also amount to much higher figures, with packlink they aren’t reimbursed because it’s considered only an intermediary, but you can’t get to the courier, the real responsible party, precisely because the transaction happened through a third party... if instead you buy shipping on other sites you get reimbursed in full, ergo, is packlink a lousy service that sells discount shipping? Same old story, if you pay less you give up decent service in exchange for one in “slot machine” style, if everything goes well fine, otherwise you get the short end of the stick ^_^. Think about it, people, think about it.

International overseas shipments have become a real pain in the neck these days, between
- Delivery times not being met
- Customs issues and various delays
- Tracking that isn’t always reliable
- Brokers that only offer 30 days of shipping coverage.
- Ebay that only offers 30 days to file a claim
- Various other things.......
These are more than enough reasons to discourage most sellers from taking on such risks.
To get around these issues, you need to rely on a completely different kind of shipping service.
You need couriers that handle the parcels directly (UPS, DHL, FeDex) from pickup to delivery, that offer fast customs clearance (thanks to their own internal customs), tracking with codes that do not change, and very short delivery times (around 3, 5, 7 days at most).
Of course, these services come at a cost, so you have to evaluate whether, based on the value of the item you are selling, a buyer is willing to spend 3 times more on shipping.
In any case, the shipping brokerage services offered by ebay+ packlink are not bad at all; on the contrary, they seem to me to be the ones that offer the best guarantees and have the lowest prices.
Obviously we are always talking about basic / budget services.
