Good morning
I recently started selling items on eBay, I have some books to sell, but when I have to select shipping, the option "book mailing" doesn't appear for me
How do I ship using this method? Thanks

·3 years agoI just tried to create a listing, and "piego di libri" is there, see attached.
But, as someone who has already replied said, I recommend adding Raccomandata, so that you have proof of shipment and the tracking code, and selecting "Raccomandata" in the shipping options.

The user probably didn't notice.....then they probably found the option. We'll know if they update us.

·3 years agoship ONLY tracked, it costs a bit more, but it saves you a ton of problems. so, as you have already been told, registered mail

·3 years agoI’ll add this...when you manage to solve the problem or find the book post option, always use the book post with registered mail, never the basic one because it’s equivalent to a stamped letter and, since you have no proof of shipment or tracking, if the item doesn’t reach the buyer, if the buyer is a bit dishonest and claims they never received it or if, since there’s no proof of delivery, the postal workers leave it in the mailbox (because the book won’t fit) and it gets taken, rest assured you’ll always end up losing the value of the item plus the shipping cost.

·3 years agoI remind you that shipments must be made only with a traceable method (I’m saying this for you, not for the buyer... since if you ship by "normal" mail they can always say they received nothing and then ask for a refund...).
Since there is "Piego di libri raccomandato", just enter it as registered postal shipping, adding the relative cost that the buyer will have to cover.

·3 years agoStrange, I used it often in the past, it was listed as book folds. Are you using the simplified or advanced selling module? Years ago, on support's advice, I switched to the advanced one because of problems due to platform changes (which led to the automatic insertion of the purchase offer in listings without having chosen it) that allows you to choose more options, but I don't remember whether there were fewer shipping options with the simple one. If you can't find the item anyway, you should contact support.

·3 years agoThe book parcel exists on the form, but as standard shipping and NOT registered; that’s why I suggested (as you did...) to use only the registered one and “pass it off” as standard registered shipping anyway, since the delivery times are about the same (obviously the cost is slightly lower and that amount will have to be taken into account when calculating the shipping charges to apply).

·3 years agoYes, thanks, I know because I used it quite a bit until 2 years ago, since after the switch to the new rules for sellers I didn’t sign up and as a result I’m going by memory and I don’t know the new layout and seller console.
But the user was saying that they really couldn’t find the wording "piego di libri", which is why I asked whether they were using the simplified or advanced module.
Then, as you say, sending piego libri without the so-called right to registered mail is equivalent to suicide for the seller! 😂 🤣 😂 🤣

·3 years agoI forgot... yes, your suggestion is great 👍 👍 👍 that is, choose registered mail and then specify in the text that it’s a registered book mailing, then if you get a picky user it’s better to spell it out. But I remember that the book mailing option was among the choices, maybe the user just didn’t notice it by mistake
