Hi everyone
I bought a patch, domestic shipping....at first the site said tracking not available...then there are checks being carried out on the shipment.
Usual postal hiccups or should I be worried?.

·3 months agoLoaded by the courier yesterday at 08:55 at 7pm on his return, this wording… I mean, you load it onto your van on the way back, it's gone and screw me, I get it?? Nice
I'm going to become an SDA courier too

·9 months agoI made a purchase from someone in Cerveteri, province of Rome, and the package was shipped yesterday (November 11) and marked today under "shipping checks." Did they steal it in Rome, or is there some chance it will actually arrive?

·9 months agoAfter just one day since shipping, you shouldn’t be worrying about this kind of thing.
And you shouldn’t even be coming to those conclusions.
Wait at least 4 or 5 business days.
Best regards.

·9 months agoIn 15 years of sending and receiving packages, I had never seen that message. I look it up on Google to figure out what it means in practice, and I find this forum with answers that are anything but reassuring. I’d say my concern may be justified

·9 months agoBut in 15 years of sending packages (so you should have a certain amount of experience) how do you, after just one day since shipping, write "Did they steal it in Rome or is there any chance it will actually arrive?"
Keep in mind that to open any claim for a lost package you have to wait 15 or 30 days depending on the type of shipment.
If you’re looking for reassurance about a shipment that left just 1 day ago, even Poste Italiane can’t give you any sure answers.
"checks are in progress on the shipment" can mean anything and the opposite of anything; it’s a generic wording that could indicate:
- Delivery delay: The package may be delayed compared to the expected delivery times, and the Post Office is trying to figure out exactly where it is.
- Address problems: There may be an error in the destination address or a problem with the label that makes delivery difficult.
- Held up in one of the post offices: The package may be waiting to be sorted in one of the logistics centers, or it may have been blocked for an extra check (for example, for customs or security reasons).
- Possible loss: The package may have been lost at one of the stages, and the Post Office is trying to trace it.
- Tracking system problems: Sometimes the tracking system may not be updated correctly, but the Post Office may be working to fix any errors in the system.
If you’d like, keep us updated on the outcome of the shipment.
Best regards.

·1 year agoFor now, my working theory is that the package got lost during transit and this is just an euphemism on the part of Poste Italiane to say that the shipment was lost without saying those exact words.

·1 year agoThe problem in the specific case of ebay is the estimated delivery days, after which the buyer can decide to open a dispute for item not received.
If delivery keeps getting delayed, you're forced to refund the buyer.
I've had registered letters sent abroad that took up to 2 months.......

·1 year agoHow long do they have to resolve the claim? I know they will reimburse me up to 30 special drawing rights (SDR) if they consider the package lost.
And then what happens if the package is found and delivered to me after Poste Italiane or the seller has issued a refund?
If it's helpful, the shipment number is RC298588898IT. Thanks a lot.

·1 year agogood morning joeltanci
Your shipment is at the Peschiera Borromeo customs office
"inspection of the shipment is in progress" can mean they want to know what is inside or they want to know the value.
Let's say that the Poste Italiane customs offices are not exactly lightning fast when it comes to customs clearance, so it could take even 15 days.
Try contacting Poste Italiane customer support to find out more.

·1 year agoI would have thought they wouldn’t carry out such invasive checks on shipments intended for export; this is a shipment that by right is destined for export from Italy... I think your explanation is plausible, but not very likely.

·1 year agoIf these are extra-EU shipments, I can assure you that they do preventive checks before the parcel / envelope leaves Italy (customs checks)
If the registered item is destined for EU countries, the goods are exempt from customs checks, but the authorities present at customs can decide at any time to carry out checks.

·1 year agoYou’re right. Singapore (the destination country) is not a country in the European Union.

·1 year agoHello, I checked your shipment, and it shows as delivered, but under the status "delivered," it still says that checks are underway on the shipment. Did you actually receive it?
I'm asking because a shipment of mine to Italy sent by registered mail on 26/05 still has the same issue as of 28/05.

·1 year agoHi shoemaker2469
You’d be better off contacting Poste support because they have more complete tracking and will certainly give you the information you’re looking for; if you manage to find out more, share it with the community.
The number to call: toll-free number 803 160

·11 months agoDid you receive it? Did you contact the toll-free number for clarification? Thanks

·10 months agoI came across this discussion not because of an eBay order but because the same thing is happening with a registered letter sent to me by who knows whom more than a month ago. Since I wasn't able to pick it up in time, it's in the process of being returned to the sender. I'm following the tracking to figure out where this sender might be and now this wording has appeared. So it's not always a matter of goods and/or customs.
anto021
·11 months agoIt happened to me too, and the international registered mail is stuck in Peschiera Borromeo (I’m the sender). Checking your tracking, it shows as delivered. Did you by any chance ask for clarification on the toll-free number?

·1 year agoDon’t worry, your package has been “lost,” or rather, some postal worker took it home with him. Unfortunately, it happened to me too with a shipment from Lithuania destined for Genoa. Magically, as soon as the package arrived in Genoa, it got lost. I lost the item and the money, while I hope the postal worker only buys medicine for himself and his whole family
tene_015
·1 year agowhat a rip-off, it happened to me too, so the post office isn't reliable anymore? I see there have been several cases since the start of this year, but then they just get away with it like that? okay, the refund, but for the seller it's a tragedy
heavenwelkin
·1 year agoMore than the post office as post offices, the problem is these large sorting centers called HUB......
If you shipped with eBay shipping you have a €35 insurance, if you’re within the deadline you can open a support ticket and go through the process to get the refund (in case of a lost package).

·1 year agoI called the toll-free number because I had the same problem and they told me, dancing around it, that when it says that the package is lost and there's no point calling or going to the post office. Basically they can't confirm it because it could end up in legal trouble and so they write that phrase and send you back to "contact the sender" or "contact the auction site" because they have to cover their backsides. When that happens there's nothing left to do but open a dispute and eBay will refund you in a few days (which has already happened to me 2 times)

·1 year agoGood morning,
this wording from Poste Italiane is used when, in technical jargon, between one step and the next, an anomaly occurs that 99% of the time translates into the parcel being lost between one step and the next. Poste Italiane states that it has filed a report of loss and that, for them, the process is concluded.

·1 year agoSorry, but that’s not how it seems to me. I certainly don’t want to contradict someone with over 5000 feeds, but lately the thing about “checks” is written by Poste two times out of three.... never a package lost (to date).

·1 year agoLucky you.... I've been waiting for a package that's been stuck since Friday the 14th with that exact note
'there are some checks being carried out on the shipment. contact support'
After several complaints they say they lost it.. a package that traveled for 20 days in America, arrives in Bari and gets lost.. who knows

·1 year agoHello, mine says the same thing too, what should I do? Did your package arrive?

·1 year agoHi, did this message also show up for you and then the packages arrived? Package sent two days ago by registered mail and as of today it still has this message. I'm worried
marioelegio
·1 year agoThese days, with the holidays and long weekends, two days are too few to start worrying. Some of the postal staff will be on vacation and a few service disruptions are inevitable.

If you entered the shipping option with eBay registered mail, it should calculate delivery estimates of about 12 ~ 15 days, so you still have enough time before starting to worry.

·1 year agoSorry to interrupt this discussion, but it concerns a shipment from Italy to Singapore (I was the buyer). The shipment arrived at the Peschiera Borromeo International Exchange Center - VIA ARCHIMEDE 2, 20068 PESCHIERA BORROMEO (MI) on April 19, and on April 30, this tracking status appeared.
Does this mean the parcel was lost during preparation for departure from Italy, or something else in the context of an international shipment?
Thank you very much for any clarification you can provide on this mystery. For your information, the seller has already started the claim process against Poste Italiane.
marioelegio
·1 year agoThere was probably some issue with one of the two customs offices. Singapore is linked to the postal system, and registered mail must be tracked until delivery.
If the sender has already opened a claim, it’s better to wait a few more days.
But be careful about the time limits for being able to open an eBay claims procedure for a refund ….. https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/ottieni-aiuto-per-un-oggetto-che-non-arrivato?id=4042

·1 year agoWhen using the national postal service, the seller is able to promptly communicate every last detail of the shipment once it has been sent, and as soon as the tracking code requested in the seller console is entered, it instantly displays the shipment graph available to the buyer. Also, if you go to Poste Italia shipment search and enter the package’s shipment code, you are immediately informed of where your parcel is. Handed over to the post office, in transit to the sorting center, out for delivery, and delivery date completed. All specified with times and dates. There are also phone services to first speak with an artificial intelligence service that gives you a general overview, then, if needed, with a service operator. It’s hard for anything to slip through with this online support. Anything can happen of course, but you’re not left alone, as often happens with other shipping providers. But you also have to take into account who I bought from eh ! Because if I purchased an item in the Middle East that the seller offered with a 50% discount, then a whole different range of possibilities has to be dealt with in that case. I hope I’ve been clear. Best regards.
