Problem with a purchase, paid by me
Hi everyone,
I won an auction and paid for an item at the same time with a credit card. I contacted the seller, who says he can't see the payment on his bank account and so doesn't want to go ahead with shipping; he'd rather settle everything by meeting in person with cash payment. Now, I've already made the payment and I don't understand the reluctance to proceed, is it eBay's responsibility? ...besides, after I pressed him, the reply I got was "Pay up, see the camel" at this point I only care about canceling the transaction and getting a refund using eBay's guarantee, how can I proceed? Do I need to file a complaint with the bank?
Thanks
MZ

·3 years agoTell the seller to go to their seller console and check the sale; in the transaction, the payment made should show up. In any case, if you paid, the confirmation should also have arrived in the email linked to their account, along with the invitation to ship the item purchased.
As Marioelegio already explained to you, do not make any further payment, especially not in cash; you’ve already paid and in any case you must not accept arrangements through messages either on eBay or directly with the other party. You must always operate through the eBay platform and its procedures to have the protections provided.
The seller probably doesn’t know that for new sellers or those who are not very active there is a 14-day minimum hold on the funds, so they have to ship even before seeing the money credited.
If they don’t ship, let the estimated delivery days from eBay pass and start the claim process for an item not received. If you then want to report the seller, follow the instructions you were already given.

For new sellers, eBay holds payments for 15 days, have them read this: https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816&st=3&pos=2&query=Pagamenti%20in%20sospeso&intent=pagamenti%20sospesi&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1450
Absolutely do not pay a second time.
You cannot cancel the transaction, you have to wait for the delivery terms to expire and ask eBay to step in: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/ottieni-aiuto-per-un-oggetto-che-non-arrivato?id=4042&st=7
Also report the seller’s inappropriate behavior: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/segnala-un-problema-con-un-venditore?id=4022&st=3&pos=1&query=Segnala%20un%20problema%20con%20un%20venditore&intent=segnala%20vend&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1299

OP3 years agolet's see if we can reach an agreement.
The important thing for me right now is not to lose money.

·3 years agoThe important thing is that you don't let the 30-day deadline from the estimated delivery pass; the important thing is to start the claim on eBay within this deadline. If you paid with Paypal, you then have 180 days to open a claim via Paypal from the day of payment. So you still have protection.
