Problems with Packlink

Good morning everyone, I am a private eBay seller and I am selling my coin collection piece by piece. So far I have used eBay Packlink, choosing BRT as the courier, and I haven’t had any problems. Now I have shipped a package containing coins to Spain, choosing the protection of the full sale amount as suggested by the site by purchasing a label for an insured parcel. I handed the package over at the drop-off point, I received the confirmation email of the handover, and then the next day the notification from eBay that the courier had scanned it. The package appears to be lost and, to make matters worse, the tracking number is not even showing up in BRT’s terminals, even though I printed the web page from their site showing the date and time of delivery to the drop-off point and the date and time of the courier’s scan. I opened a lost shipment ticket on Packlink, and they replied that coins fall under items not covered by insurance and cannot be shipped through their platform. I wonder why eBay, when I access eBay shipping, does not stop me and require me to back out given the material I need to ship, and instead lets me buy the label directly, and why I am even offered the option to insure the package for the full amount. Has anyone had a similar problem? How did you handle it? Now, understandably, the buyer has opened a claim and eBay has even blocked my funds

·7 months agoI advise not to spend any more money on insurance, because as already said there are a myriad of items not covered. What's more, the fact that protection is offered even if the item does not fall within insurable items is misleading; in my opinion there should be an automatic block.
Some time ago I shipped a new hard drive with bomb-proof packaging and insurance; it arrived not working. Assuming the buyer was acting in good faith (backed anyway by video evidence that I asked for), I filed a claim with Packlink for damage and it was rejected because electronic items cannot be insured.
If the item shows as delivered or picked up at a pickup point, I wouldn't do anything. eBay should handle the dispute because according to the tracking the package reached its destination correctly.

·7 months agoThe logic is sound and I think ebay has significantly reduced the use of pickup points ALSO because there have been problems with package collection.
When the pickup point made packages disappear and the buyer disputed not receiving the items, responsibility could then not fall on the seller ......

·7 months agoEbay provides a shipping service that it does not manage directly.
For any issue with packlink, you need to contact packlink.
Packlink has a long list of items NOT COVERED, and coins are among them.
