Pickup points
I point out that pickup points are no longer selectable when finalizing orders, as far as I understand it doesn't depend on the sellers or the type of listing... I ask, is this a temporary problem or has eBay decided to end the service?

·9 months agoSame problem, so I tried writing to eBay customer service and, apparently, we can forget about pickup points... This was their reply:
"Fermopoint pickup points have been removed from the payment module for the following categories: Fashion, Media etc, and for this reason it doesn't show up when you want to choose the shipping method.
For these categories, Fermopoint will no longer appear among the delivery options. You can still use Punto Poste pickup points if the seller offers this option.
I hope I have provided you with the necessary information, and I wish you all the best and a pleasant continued experience on eBay.

Thank you for sharing the reply you got from customer service.
I looked at the link you shared and the list of EXCLUDED categories is pretty long....
quote: "Please note: some categories are no longer eligible for the Fermopoint pickup option. You can still use Punto Poste pickup points if the seller offers this option."
Excluded categories
- Home furnishings and DIY
- Business, office and industry
- Computers
- Clothing and accessories
- Health and beauty
- Watches and jewelry
- Sports and travel
- Other categories
- Cars and motorcycles: parts and accessories
- Health and beauty
- Tickets and events
- Boating and watercraft
- Sports and travel
- Musical instruments
- TV, audio and video
- Movies and DVDs
- Comics and memorabilia
- Books and magazines
- Music CDs and vinyl records
If they decided to exclude all these product categories, it means these Fermopoints have caused more than a few headaches.
On the forum there was a user who said he had several Fermopoints closed because, in practice, none of the ones he tried followed the correct operating guidelines.
I, in my small way, decided to exclude the Fermopoint service from all my listings right after the service was implemented.
It's still a shame because there were a few businesses that offered the service with seriousness, competence, and honesty, but they were still a tiny minority.

·9 months agoI confirm the same problem, no fermopoint selectable. But do you know if this has already happened in the past, around the holidays? Is there a chance the service will be restored starting in January?

·9 months agoIt should also be said that fermopoints are often small businesses that often don't have the space to handle a large volume of packages.
Maybe that's also why eBay decides to disable fermopoints during the busiest time of the year.
Mine are obviously just assumptions.

·9 months agoIn my opinion, if it’s not a temporary BUG or an update, it could be that ebay has decided to limit fermopoint during the holiday period.
Alternatively, it could also be that the seller has disabled the use of the fermopoint service, which on ebay is not mandatory for sellers but optional.
Even in normal times, fermopoint are an unknown, let alone during the holidays.
If, for example, a stationery shop decides to take a long weekend with weekdays in between, who knows whether the courier marks them as a failed delivery because the fermopoint was absent 😎
In that case, you could consider entering the address of a relative you know is often at home, or a friend or acquaintance who has a business.
