How long does the seller have to send the exact total for shipping multiple items?
Hello. Yesterday (Saturday) I asked a seller to send a new total because I am buying 3 items from them. I received an automatic eBay email saying I have to pay by Wednesday. I would even pay tomorrow, but in theory within how much time is the seller obliged to respond to my request?

·2 years agoI agree with what the person before me said.
going point by point :
1) it’s good practice to ask the seller BEFORE making purchases whether they do combined shipping and, if so, to agree on that;
2) don’t necessarily expect a reply from the seller, since they’re not obliged to do so ( although, frankly, it would eventually be counterproductive for them)
3) once you’ve bought, you’re basically dependent on the seller for shipping costs : so they might grant you a single shipment ( always to be agreed on afterwards..... which sometimes, to comply with Ebay rules, could be a bit complicated..... ) , or everything could be canceled ( and here the seller decides whether to take pity on you and cancel by accepting your possible request, or to wait 4 days and cancel for unpaid item..... in the latter case you get as many warnings as the unpaid winning listings..... you can imagine the consequences in the latter case.... )

That said:
It’s always a good idea to contact the seller BEFORE BUYING and ask whether they offer combined shipping, listing the items you’d like to buy.
If you do it after the purchase is completed, you run the risk that the seller won’t accept combined shipping.
Some sellers charge an additional shipping cost for every extra item added.
Wait until Monday to see if the seller sends you the total and, if not, try sending a new request email.
If the seller doesn’t want to send a correct invoice, the only thing you can do is
1) Pay the invoice as it is
2)Ask the seller to cancel the purchase
After 4 days without payment, the seller can cancel the sale with the option "the buyer did not pay for the item".
Best regards.

If you tried to contact him on Saturday, it could also be that the seller doesn't work that day.
On eBay you find two types of professional sellers: those who reply to emails even on Saturday and Sunday or even in the evening hours and other sellers who NEVER reply outside working hours.
For this reason, I think it's best for you to try again on Monday with a new request to review the shipping total in the hope that the seller agrees to offer combined shipping.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoMaybe it would have been better not to go ahead with the purchase before getting a response. Anyway, have you gotten a reply from the seller as of today?

·2 years agothe email you received is just a reminder, any actions for an unpaid item can only be taken by the seller. The invoice can be sent within 30 days. anyway, ask the seller.
