This time it happened to me. PACKLINK and charge for WEIGHT/DIMENSIONS discrepancy.
Summary: The discussion revolves around a problem heavenwelkin had with PACKLINK regarding a charge for a discrepancy between the weight and dimensions of a parcel. lupin-5646, riccmonch-0, and deba1960 replied to the thread, and heavenwelkin interacted with each of them to discuss the issue further. However, the specific details of the replies are not provided.
After doing something like 300 shipments with the ebay spedizioni - packlink service, what has been regularly reported for years on the eBay forum happened to me too, and not only there.....
That is, charges (whether justified or not) relating to alleged discrepancies detected by the courier regarding weights and measurements.
Having never dealt with this type of issue, I did not take photos of the package on the scale or photos with the tape measure, so I will not be able to contest the charge.
The package contained two feet / support bases to keep a 32-inch LED monitor standing.
The items weighed 100 ~ 150 grams and the package weighed 0.33 kg.
I don't know how it could have ended up weighing 6.4 kg.
Besides, I pass by the BRT office by car, so it certainly wouldn't be difficult to stop by the office to understand how a 0.33 kg package ended up weighing 6.4 kg, but packlink wouldn't accept that as proof anyway.
If a provincial BRT center were used to tampering with package weights, I would certainly have found discrepancies at regular intervals, but since nothing like that has ever happened, in my opinion there are 2 possibilities:
1) An error during the weighing of the package by BRT
2) A differently lawful practice by packlink.
A charge of 2.87 euros is not much, but on 5.22 euros it is more than half the cost of the service provided to ship the package.
Best regards

·5 months agoI received the PayPal email indicating a charge of 3 euros and some change in favor of Auctane Packlink, but I haven't received any email or communication explaining why, and the transaction details I find on PayPal are not enough to start the contact form .........So is it impossible to contact packlink to get an explanation for the charge?

OP5 months agoPacklink sends you an email with the subject: "Your shipment XXX number XXXX Price adjustment
If you didn’t receive it, check your spam / junk mail; if it’s not there, check that the email address is the one registered on eBay.
If it’s not there, try contacting Packlink through a support ticket by going to
https://spedizioni.ebay.it
And next to the shipment in question (you’ll need to check among the old shipments from one or two months ago), open it to see the details and from there you can submit a support ticket.
Kind regards.

·7 months agoSHAMEFUL behavior. impossible to establish any dialogue. report this person’s harassing behavior to AGMC, because apparently he also “makes a living” off these requests, for which he never provides any irrefutable proof of existence.

OP7 months agoOn eBay Italy things are not going as they should; there are no operators able to solve problems rather than forwarding the requests to the xyz department.
The busy Christmas period is now over, but I'm noticing that parcel delivery times continue to be extremely long.
Packlink issued this notice on the spedizioni.ebay.it portal
To put it bluntly, they are talking about a COLLAPSE and an eBay default for 2 days on shipping and packaging times, where most private sellers don't even know that the times can be changed, let alone how to change them.
On the internet you can read about countless users who have lost both item and money because of these delivery estimates.
I had deliveries even at 20 days, so the situation should have been handled by the platform in a much more serious and professional way, and instead the automations remained, where after 2 days you could ask for the intervention of a flesh-and-blood operator who in reality was an automation that closed the dispute in favor of the buyer.
Buyer with a refund and item that they would receive shortly.
Seller without item and without money, who shipped within eBay's timeframes.
Packlink, which no longer has support that works.
eBay, which has no operators able to handle disputes for item not received and, as per the rules, should wait 21 days if the operator deems the tracking valid; in reality, the disputes are closed immediately afterward in a completely automated way.
In my opinion the situation is getting out of hand.

·7 months agoUnfortunately, to dispute it you would need documented measurements and weight (with photos or video).
Otherwise there’s very little you can do.
As for the weight, either they made a mistake or they calculated the volumetric one.
There are people who, for having shipped pillows and duvets (large volume), have paid some hefty fines.
But without proof it will be hard to clear yourself.

OP7 months agoIf you ship a pillow or a duvet and correctly calculate the measurements of the 3 sides, the volumetric weight comes out too, so if you measure correctly this doesn’t happen.
I contacted support pointing out that RECENTLY they, with BRT, give you the option to take the package to the BRT point and ship it without printing the label.
They gave me a canned response that was absolutely not relevant to my request.
I tried replying to the ticket but didn’t get any further response.
In short, they put in the rule that you have to take a photo of the package with the label clearly visible on the electronic scale, measuring the 3 sides.
But at the same time they added the option for those who don’t have a printer to ship a package anyway.
If you give me the option to ship without a printer, HOW CAN YOU ask me as the only option for PHOTOS OF THE PACKAGE ON THE SCALE WITH THE PRINTED LABEL CLEARLY VISIBLE?
Anyway, as long as these differently honest guys limit themselves to charging me a few extra euros, I’ll turn a blind eye.
Then if some more substantial discrepancy were to happen, I’ll weigh the pros and cons of a PayPal dispute.
