Is Revolut not a checking account suitable for incoming payments?
Summary: A participant raised a question about whether Revolut is suitable for incoming payments. Various participants, including arcobaleno2022 and marioelegio, responded to the inquiry, but the details of their responses are not provided in the discussion.
Good morning, yesterday I sold an item, but I noticed that the incoming payment had remained blocked due to the bank account not being recognized, which in this case I have with Revolut and I also use for work.
The bank account is Italian (IT), it is already set to receive direct debits and is now under review again for 48 hours after I sent a bank statement (the normal review with login, even though they took 0.01€ from me, apparently it had not gone through because of “something wrong” with the bank account)
At this point I’m wondering: is Revolut the problem and do I actually need to get one of the bank accounts that are instantly available in eBay’s list? And if so, why would Revolut be the problem?
Thanks everyone for your help

·7 months agoI see the following error when I try to add Revolut (Italian IBAN) as a method to receive payments. Has anyone managed it? Is there another bank with no fees that is accepted by ebay?

·7 months agoFormally, Revolut with an Italian IBAN meets all the requirements to be used on eBay as well.
The reason you are getting an error could depend on two factors:
1) eBay Italy does not accept standard Revolut with an Italian IBAN for reasons unknown to us.
2) You made procedural errors during the entry process.
Try logging into eBay on the desktop version because the app may have a BUG.
From the photo you posted I can see the rounded edges, so you're definitely on a mobile phone; try doing the setup from a desktop version with the Chrome browser or use the phone with the browser in desktop mode.
Other errors that come to mind are:
- The cardholder does not match the one registered on eBay.
- Error with entering the two micro deposits.
If you can't solve it, contact eBay support here:
https://www.ebay.it/help/contact_us?id=4190
contact us (on the left) and then "ask us to call you".
Anyway, if you can, let us know if you manage to figure out where the problem with Revolut is, so we can also understand whether it is in fact NOT ACCEPTED BY EBAY.
Kind regards.

·11 months agoThe latest Revolut accounts have IT IBANs.... and so they should be fine, the important thing is that they have exactly the same account name as the eBay account.
Use the link at the bottom of this page and have eBay customer service contact you .... https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/getting-paid/registrarsi-come-venditore?id=4792&st=3&pos=1&query=Registrarsi%20come%20venditore&intent=registarsi%20com&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1461

·11 months agoThe problem is probably exactly because of that 0.01 transaction; if Revolut does not accept micro-credits as incoming payments, you won't be able to use this method to receive (foreign) bank transfers from eBay. Alternatively, you could consider Postepay Evolution (the black one); I used it too at first and the platform accepted it without any hesitation whatsoever.
