International bulky item shipping handled by buyer
Good evening, I sold a lot of old used headlights and I had the listing set for customer pickup, but the buyer who contacted me said he would send someone to pick up the pallet, but he couldn’t manage to buy and pay with PayPal, so I had to set shipping to 0 and he paid. What do I do now? Do I mark it as shipped even though he hasn’t picked it up yet? How do I protect myself to avoid the buyer complaining in a few weeks about damage during shipping or something else and asking PayPal for a refund? Thanks

·2 years agoAs already explained, if it doesn’t give you the pickup code, you expose yourself to a potential buyer, let’s say, not quite on the level.
If in doubt, I would cancel the sale; better to lose a few cents rather than the item and the money.

·2 years agohow do you protect yourself? ....... cancel and issue the refund....... otherwise there's a real risk the buyer does exactly what you're worried about......
PS: worth noting, with shipping he COULDN'T pay with PayPal, and without shipping he COULD?

·2 years agoThe procedure was not correct, you should have put the pickup in the zone and you should have had them give you the 6-digit code at the time of pickup. Then if he wasn’t doing it in person, he should have given the code to his representative.
