Good morning everyone: I studied the forum thoroughly before posting the message, but I didn't find anything that actually helped me understand, so I'm asking for help.
About a month ago I bought an item from a private seller in the USA who had set Ebay International Shipping as the international shipping method: the seller shipped it shortly after my purchase and the tracking updated in the evening (tracking code EEUS014037853IT0). On 05/12/2024 the package arrived in Italy after passing through Switzerland - Asendia as the forwarder - and was then handed over to Poste Italiane ( tracking code LS452638409CH): since then the tracking has not been updated anymore, but I never got the wording about customs clearance problems, so I didn't send any documents). Delivery was expected for 11/12/2024 and on December 17 I contacted customer support for the order asking for information and reiterating that I did not want a refund but wanted the item.
The same day, I received the refund on Paypal, which, I repeat, was not what I wanted or at least not right away.
I keep checking the tracking at least to understand what's going on and, although the Poste website still stops at 05/12/2024 with the wording "in transit at the international exchange center" some other sites instead show another wording that I don't understand, as it says the package is in the courier's hands but in America..I'm attaching screenshots of the various web pages so it's clearer.
Could someone who has found themselves in the same situation help me please? Thanks to anyone who replies 🙂

According to the tracking, on December 5 your package left the Ascendia center, so it was still in the USA
For now there are no further updates because, most likely, the package has not yet made another stop and is sitting in some depot waiting to depart.
You need to be patient a little longer because around the Christmas period it's always like this....
Wait another fifteen days; if then you see that nothing is moving, open a dispute for item not received.

OP1 year agoHi! Thanks a lot for the reply, we noticed the same thing... Anyway, I spent the day talking first with an Asendia operator, who first told me that they don't handle it, but rather Poste Italiane, and then used the LSetc shipping code to track it and told me that the package is actually in Italy. At that point I used the Poste Italiane chat where, with a lot of effort, I managed to chat with an operator who said that the aforementioned package is at the Milan Roserio branch and that it is the equivalent of an "INTERNATIONAL INBOUND" and that for this type of shipments coming from abroad no estimated and precise arrival date is provided: he wrote to me that they are like the equivalent of postcards and that for this reason they don't have accurate tracking with a precise estimated date.
Now, I searched on the Poste website and on the Internet for this wording but nothing... at this point yes, I had already resigned myself and decided to wait...
Has anyone ever had a similar ordeal? I hope not, but if so could you let me know how it went?

·1 year agoAsendia is not an international courier like FeDex, UPS, or DHL, which have offices all over the world and handle the entire shipping route themselves with a single tracking code, very short delivery times, and very efficient in-house customs handling.
Asendia is one of those shipping services that rely on other carriers, so the timing inevitably gets longer.
So it is NORMAL to have these delivery times.
