Incorrect shipping address
I made a purchase, and the seller ships the item using the wrong address. I don't know where he got the information from, since I've been buying on ebay for years and the items have always arrived. The address has always been the same, never changed, yet the seller gets the municipality of residence wrong. Noticing the error from the shipment tracking itself, I contact the seller, who does not respond. What should I do in these cases?

·3 years agoFirst of all, you have to file a complaint through eBay within 30 days from the last estimated delivery date by eBay. It’s not like before, when only Paypal handled complaints; since around mid-2018 the eBay guarantee was introduced. The money now goes through eBay even if you pay via Paypal; in fact, if you look at the transaction details on Paypal, you no longer see the eBay seller’s name but the name "eBay S.ar.l.". So when you file a complaint with eBay, the money is refunded by eBay, which credits it back to the channel that handled the payment.
Paypal has remained only for buyers and is a second option if you can’t meet eBay’s shorter time frame.
On Paypal you have 180 days from payment to request a refund for a not received item or a return, but in this case you no longer have the return shipping reimbursement, which instead is provided on eBay in the event of a non-compliant item.

·3 years agoI confirm that, although your details are more up to date than mine, the customer is still in a very safe position. In any case, paying with Paypal gives an extra guarantee, which doesn't hurt even with eBay's new rules.

·3 years agoI agree, paying with Paypal offers an additional and more extended guarantee in terms of timing. Have a nice day.

·3 years agoHi.
If the seller doesn’t respond and can’t find a way to correct the typo, there’s very little you can do, namely check whether the item is shipped to you within the stated time and, if you don’t receive it at all, open a dispute directly with eBay and/or Paypal for item not shipped and you will then be refunded.
So it’s definitely more of a problem for him for having entered the wrong Municipality, considering that if the package is not shipped to the actual customer, normally it is automatically returned to the sender or, worse still, lost.
I hope he’s just swamped with commitments and I could also count on the seller’s goodwill, so before going ahead with the dispute, wait at least the minimum time needed to open it while continuing to insist on finding a solution; then if you don’t find one, in any case you won’t lose your money normally, especially if you used Paypal, so don’t worry.
