packling shipment lost
Summary: The discussion is about a lost shipping package, with several users involved in trying to solve the problem. jurgen8287 starts the conversation, and marioelegio and alex_minishop step in at different points in the exchange. The replies focus on tracking the package and possible solutions.
hello, I’m asking for info and would kindly ask if you can advise me.
I shipped several parcels on 23/12/2024 and none of them arrived, and the buyers have opened disputes against me.
After opening claims on packling, they sent me emails with the acceptance of the loss claim with the relative refunds. I refunded and closed some disputes, but I’m wondering..... in the end I’m the one who loses out, since I shipped it and I lost the item. How does it work?
thanks

·1 year agoYou wrote that your claim was accepted by Packlink and that the corresponding reimbursements will arrive.
So, if we sum it up with your example:
What would be missing?

OP1 year agolook, I've been puzzling over this thing all day....but in the end, who wins and who loses?

·1 year agoif you refund the buyer and packlink refunds you, by force of things packlink is the one that "loses" out.
then packlink actually takes the money for refunds from the percentages they add on to shipping costs or from the supplemental insurance. then, like all insurance mechanisms, for low amounts they don't make a fuss, the problems come with higher amounts

·1 year agoIf packlink has accepted your loss claims and issued the related refunds ..... the item has been lost, you have refunded the buyers and Packlink has refunded you.
So you don’t lose anything at all.

·1 year agoYou're not telling me you wanted to get back the item and the refund money from Packlink?
jurgen8287
OP1 year agoNo, maybe I’m the one who doesn’t understand, or I’m explaining myself badly
example:
I sell an item for 15 euros, the buyer pays and I ship it.
The package gets lost, the buyer opens a dispute.
I open it on Packlink and it accepts the loss; at this point I close the dispute and refund the buyer 15 euros.
the buyer is happy because he’s been refunded his 15 euros, but what about my 15 euros that eBay had blocked in the meantime?
maybe I don’t understand, but oh well

Ebay and packlink work together as far as shipping is concerned but they are two distinct / separate entities.
If the buyer opens a dispute for an item not received, ebay refunds them by drawing from your funds, and up to here that's right, since the seller is responsible for the item reaching the buyer.
You then open a claim with packlink where you report that the package was lost.
There will be procedures and if they agree that the item was lost you will receive a refund of the item's cost.
If you had set free shipping you will receive the 15 euros; if instead it was 15 euros plus shipping separately you will receive only the refund of the 15 euros.
Kind regards
