Delayed shipping, impatient buyer.

Hi everyone, I could use some advice 🙏
I sold an item on eBay on April 7 and shipped it right after. The tracking shows stopped on April 10 with this message:
"Delivery has been delayed. We are doing everything possible to ensure your shipment arrives as soon as possible".
Now, aside from the fact that Saturday and Sunday were in between too, the real problem is the buyer, who is literally bombarding me with messages, threatening disputes and asking every day “how I intend to proceed”. I tried asking for a bit of patience, but no luck.
In the meantime I contacted Packlink, who replied saying they had sent a reminder to Poste Italiane. I contacted Poste Italiane too, but from their side no response, total silence.
So I’m asking you:
How do you handle cases like this?
How long can pass before a dispute is opened or eBay steps in?
Should I worry about any money deductions?
I’m just trying to handle this with common sense, but the buyer seems to want a war from the start 😅 Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some advice!

·1 year agoUnfortunately, you've run into an impatient and disrespectful buyer because when a shipment is delayed for reasons NOT DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE SELLER, people should be more understanding.
Now you can contact the buyer and tell them to be patient and wait, and in return give them a discount on the shipping costs or refund them completely.
Because if they open a dispute with you for an item not received, you risk losing both the item and the money.
Good luck

·1 year agoit depends mainly on the delivery times indicated in the listing..... and then obviously on the buyer.... : in short, if the expected arrival days for the package have already passed, the buyer could open a dispute for a non-received package at any moment..... from that moment you have three working days to respond, anyway see the link below

OP1 year agoIf I wanted to send him the product again, how would that work? Is it possible or do I risk losing out twice? Because he could act in bad faith and open the dispute anyway, pocketing the money + the product that’s on its way + the product I’d want to send him again.

·1 year agoPersonally, I think that, the way Ebay is structured, every transaction stands on its own....... so it's better to avoid a DIY approach by sending another item to make up for the first one : if the first item doesn't arrive, the buyer will very likely open a not received item dispute...... if they actually want it, they either buy another one or wait for the first one to arrive..... if they open a dispute, obviously the seller will then have to decide whether to allow a second purchase to a buyer deemed "impatient" .......
