eBay shipping or contract with couriers? Pros and Cons
Hello everyone,
I’m starting my selling business and I’m trying to figure out how to optimize shipping from a cost perspective as well.
I know that eBay offers an integrated shipping service and I also know the prices that are applied, but I don’t know the rates charged by national couriers when you sign a contract with them. I know they want a certain minimum number of monthly shipments, but I don’t know the rates and prices.
Could you give me some more info, advice, or suggestions on this aspect?
Thanks everyone

OP1 year agoThanks Mario for the reply.
I already have a VAT number but I operate in other sectors, I’m adding the ATECO code for online sales, I have just 2 listings as a test and I haven’t sold anything yet, so don’t worry, I’m not breaking any laws or regulations.
That said, can you give me some guidance on the question I asked?

OP1 year agoI know the postal service, but when it comes to prices the costs offered by the integrated eBay platform for shipping are more convenient; in some cases with eBay you spend around 5 euros, while directly with the post office it starts at 5.90, then if the number of shipments is high I don't know if they apply any discounts, but based on the price list published by the post office it isn't worth it....

·1 year agoFirst of all, in my opinion you don’t need to justify yourself to other users like you and me if you’re selling items on eBay without a VAT number as a private seller as test sales etc., so at most one can thank the user who gives you the advice and that’s that.
But be careful because with zero feedback, if you put up too many new items in multiple quantities and with stock photos and too much turnover, you risk account blocks or limitations because a private seller can’t sell in the same way as a professional seller, otherwise many people would do without using professional accounts.
Regarding your question about shipping with a subscription, in my opinion you won’t be able to find good offers unless you guarantee a certain monthly shipping volume.
If you can manage contracts for at least 500 or 1000 shipments a month, maybe you’ll find something good.
Dealing directly with a courier is definitely better than relying on a shipping reseller.
But for example on eBay Shipping you find shipping rates starting from 5.22 euros and you can even do just one shipment a month.....

In my opinion, to start with you can begin like this, then when you see that your sales volumes are over 500 items maybe you can hope for some excellent shipping contract.
Best regards.
