Shipping costs to the UK and any import fees

Hi, when we see listings from England sometimes import fees are already included, sometimes not. Does that mean they can choose this when creating the listing, or is there another reason?

Why is this option not included from Italy, so from Ebay Italy?

Is there a way to view the shipping costs to the UK through the Ebay program, even before making the sale?

If so, is it possible that the buyer refuses the shipment upon delivery because they do not want to pay import fees or other costs unknown to them at the time of purchase?

If so, in this circumstance is there a risk of having to pay return costs or something else?

You need to calculate about 25 ~ 26% in taxes on the item's total, including shipping costs.
If you buy an item for 300 pounds, you'll have to pay roughly 75-80 pounds in import taxes.

If you refuse the package because you don't want to pay import fees because you DIDN'T BELIEVE, DIDN'T KNOW, DIDN'T THINK, get ready for a series of BAD NEWS. I strongly advise against refusing a package while stating that you refuse to pay import taxes.
If so, in this situation is there a risk of having to pay return shipping costs or something else?
You risk losing the item you bought and the money you paid. So be careful.

If you buy an item that you see listed on ebay.it and that comes from England, it means that the seller has enabled sales in your country (Italy)

Then the seller can choose two shipping methods in Italy.

a) Shipping handled completely by the seller (the seller directly takes care of shipping to Italy and the seller also takes care of the required customs paperwork)

b) Shipping handled by the Ebay Global Shipping Program (active in the UK and USA), where the seller simply ships to this service (also in the UK) and then they take care of getting the package to you.

In the first case ebay takes care of collecting VAT for items up to 150 pounds; if the item costs more, you will pay import taxes directly when the package arrives when the courier delivers it to you, or they will send you an email a few days before for possible online payment to the courier.

Hello,

only the United States and England can join the service provided by ebay, called GSP (Global Shipping Program)... so Italy is excluded.

The program is optional, so some sellers join and some don't.

The fact that you buy from non-EU countries has to be understood: they say the law does not accept ignorance... so even in this case it does not accept the fact that the buyer "didn't know" they had to pay import taxes when buying outside Europe.

So anyone who buys without knowing they will have to pay these taxes and voluntarily refuses the package is not covered by the ebay buyer guarantee, so they will lose money and the item.
