Granted that using PayPal no untrackable shipment is allowed, I never had any problems in ten years (two cases of books not received) whereas in the last six months the share has skyrocketed to seven cases.
I had the chance to carry out an experiment.
By paying the customer the shortfall amount, I sent some of the purchased books by registered mail (4.70€); for the remainder I used ordinary economical untracked shipping (1.35€) as agreed in the transaction - asking them to let me know the arrival date of the two parcels.
Shipping date December 3.
Registered mail arrival December 6.
Ordinary arrival January 11.
Setting aside the considerations about the overlap with the Christmas holidays and delivery difficulties, it seems obvious that the delivery dates estimated by eBay (December 11-18) are absolutely and always unrealistic. In this way, refund requests become inevitable.

If you sell used books, usually there’s always that seller who offers the best price or who takes the risk of doing shipping for under 2 euros.
For this reason, the seller is often forced to use the standard book post option, or maybe they could lower the price of the book and offer registered book post for under 2 euros......
If you want to extend the estimated delivery times from eBay, you need to extend the handling times.
You can extend the handling times UP TO 30 DAYS.
This way you can extend the delivery estimates by an additional 30 days.

·1 year agoWhy always and in any case blame eBay when it is Poste Italiane that states that in 98% of cases shipments are delivered within 6 days after acceptance?
eBay's delivery estimates are based on the data provided by Poste Italiane, so if you shipped on December 3 and eBay shows December 18, it means that eBay is giving a full 9 extra days.
