good morning
I sent the thermostat back to the company that sold it to me because it doesn't work in my car, I also sent the registration document but the gauge needle on the dashboard doesn't move because evidently it's not the right one, over the phone they made me close the case on ebay (there I screwed up without thinking too much, I trusted them, but they did it with a trick because being disabled I wasn't feeling well that day) telling me that everything was fine, but once closed on ebay it won't reopen it for me anymore for a possible refund, they had me send it at my expense once it arrived they called me to say it had arrived, but they need a month to test it if it works for them they send it back to me, losing the money for the thermostat plus the shipping costs , up to today I haven't heard anything they said to call them on August 2, 2024, in the meantime I had to buy one from another company so as not to be left with the car stuck, and that one works !!
in my opinion I lose the costs I made to buy it euro 43.99 and shipping of euro 8€ with spediamo .it tracked (right after they put it at 36€ I don't know why), ebay doesn't want to hear it anymore for them it's already closed and went through fine, but not for me.
I don't know if this happened to any of you, but ebay should be more careful because the return is trackable and it doesn't take a month to check the part it's all a setup to not refund me, if they decide on their own that it's fine as I assume I lost everything
Let me know if this has happened to any of you and how you handled it!
thanks Franco

small premise: if this is the first "hitch" after 15 years on eBay and a feedback score over 1000 (almost all as a buyer.....) .... well, congratulations on the c.. (...luck....) of never having needed eBay's procedures..... it remains that in all this time they have never been read.....
for the rest, as indicated by Heavenwelkin, you can always open a case with the payment method you used (and here too there are rules to read depending on the method used....)

As you said, you trusted them and you closed the dispute on eBay and as far as eBay is concerned the matter is closed.
I advise you to write to the seller and ask them to speed things up because otherwise you will open a dispute with PayPal (if you paid with PayPal)
If instead you paid by credit card and not with PayPal, let the seller know that if they do not proceed with the return you will open a chargeback request with your bank.
So write to the seller something like this:
Dear seller, as agreed I am waiting for the refund or the replacement item.
If the agreements are not honored, I inform you that I will have to proceed with a PayPal claim and/or a chargeback request with my bank.
Best regards.
