A problem with a dishonest buyer who won't listen to reason.
Summary: The discussion concerns a problem with an unfair buyer who is not willing to cooperate or listen to reasons, as indicated by the topic. However, all of the authors’ contributions contain no further content or specific details.
On March 1, a user buys my mini PC that I had listed for sale. In the notes, he writes to me: "Make sure it is delivered to me personally to avoid theft."
That already seemed strange to me. As a responsible person, I write to him via eBay asking whether he prefers shipping with BRT or Poste. I wait for his reply, but since no response arrives on March 2, on March 3 I go ahead and ship it, still respecting the expected time frame (I had indicated 2 days for shipping plus 2/3 days for delivery by courier). So far, everything is in order.
On the same day I ship it, the user finally replies. Then, incredibly, he opens a dispute for "item not received," even though the tracking is being updated regularly. But is it possible that eBay allows a dispute to be opened even while the shipment is in progress? if ebay is like this, I’m quitting before I even start.

OP1 year agoOk, thanks! Tomorrow I’ll contact eBay support and we’ll see what they say. Asking around a bit with acquaintances who sell, they told me that if I shipped with eBay shipping and the package arrived just one day late, eBay always sides with the seller. I’ll keep you updated.

Once the buyer opens a dispute for item not received, after 3 working days (if the seller can’t sort out the issue", the buyer can ask eBay to step in).
Theoretically, if the item has arrived and the buyer has not yet asked eBay to step in, and you entered the tracking code on eBay and it shows as delivered, you should be all set.
The buyer should not ask eBay to step in and, if they do, the system should confirm delivery and automatically close the dispute.
But since the process is automated, it could happen that the delivery outcome is not seen by the system automatically, so I would make a call to support just to be safe.

·1 year agoAnyway, if the buyer asks eBay to intervene and eBay sides with the seller, the seller has 2 days to issue a refund; otherwise eBay will do it.
The seller, in these 2 days, would have time to contact support and point out that the package was delivered.
But I repeat, I wouldn’t leave everything to these automated systems.
Staying calm, avoiding unnecessary arguments and discussions with the buyer is important, since an annoyed buyer might decide to return the item out of spite.

·1 year agoit's not out of the question...... especially in cases of "differently honest" ......

·1 year agogiven that the buyer, if he enters an address, must make sure where the package ended up in the event that it is correctly delivered (in fact I consider the wording of a buyer who writes: "it be delivered to me personally" absurd, since he entered the address himself);
to get to the question, if the buyer opened a dispute on eBay, you set shipping times that are too "tight" on the listing, so in the future it would be advisable to "lengthen" them;
then one should not rule out that the buyer may have been able to open the dispute in another way, that is, through the payment system used
anyway, beyond the hypotheses, as Heavenwelkin pointed out, contacting eBay support directly wouldn't hurt.......I also recommend reading the eBay rules carefully (maybe in installments..... since for someone just starting out it could be somewhat "dispersive" to say the least.....) especially for anyone intending to sell.....

OP1 year agoHi, anyway, on other listings I'm increasing the shipping times. Yesterday the shipment was delivered. What do I need to do now? Do I still need to contact eBay or wait? In the history, the last message is from the buyer, then I updated the tracking and it shows that the item has been delivered. What do you recommend? Thanks everyone for the advice.

·1 year agoif it shows as delivered within the times stated in the listing there shouldn’t be any problems..... it’s just that you still need to wait for the outcome of the dispute : if it’s unfavorable to you, you can always appeal..... anyway, contacting eBay support in “doubtful” cases is still a way to have a bit more data..... (it always depends on how it’s interpreted by whoever is handling the procedure in support....)

OP1 year agoThanks, yes, I understood that. Now I hope I don't lose my mini PC and my money. I hope eBay protects me, I wouldn't want to have to file reports or anything...

·1 year agoI’m looking at the sale of the mini PC
Here it says it was sold on Saturday, March 1
If you LOOK CAREFULLY at your listing, you’ve set the estimated delivery times too low; in fact today is Friday, March 7 and your listing tells me the estimated delivery is March 11 or 12.
considering that there’s Saturday and Sunday, you basically set the delivery estimate to 2 days.
You need to put more realistic shipping and packing times.
Enter at least 5 or 7 days excluding Saturday and Sunday.
I recommend that you contact an eBay representative and explain the situation because if you leave the dispute automated you’re at risk.

And then scroll all the way to the bottom of the web page, you’ll find it says: ask us to call you, click it and an agent will get in touch with you.

·1 year agoGood morning carmenstore
You are a seller with zero feedback, users are now all aware of the fact that they could suffer scams or fraud with distance purchases.
To open a dispute for an item not received, at LEAST the estimated delivery times set by ebay must have passed.
So if the buyer has opened a dispute against you, it's because the expected delivery is late.
Next time try to ship as soon as possible and use a fast shipping service.
Or, increase the shipping and packaging times so you have more room to maneuver.
Best regards
