Check bank account
A problem I imagine many people will have.
How do you get incoming payments unblocked?
I have a Postepay Evolution account and eBay is asking for a bank statement with all the details (IBAN, bank logo, first and last name, etc).
The thing is that on the Postepay statement the IBAN is not shown, while it is present on another document.
What should I do? Send them both?

OP2 years agoBy the way, eBay credited an amount to my Postepay account, couldn't that be used as proof?

·2 years agoI don't know if this might be helpful to you, I got this info through Google.
Also see if sending an annual statement might be okay, where you can see (hopefully) the IBAN and the account holder's name.
How to view the PostePay statement
There are several ways to view the PostePay statement.
You can go to the post office counter and request it directly from the clerk, or use a Postamat. Alternatively, it is possible to consult the statement online through the Poste Italiane website or the dedicated app.
In particular, the annual statement can be found by accessing the Documents and Contracts Area, in the Documents for 13 months section: you can save it on your device and print it at any time.

OP2 years agoI already contacted them and they told me that eBay requires that information and that the bank is required to give it to the customer.
The point is that - from what I understood - eBay is asking for documents that Poste can't produce.
For example: the documents are not in color and do not show the Poste Italiane logo. The IBAN is present on one document, while the bank statement is on another.
eBay can't dictate to Poste Italiane how to prepare the documents, but it should accept the official documents that Poste issues.
If the situation doesn't get resolved, I'll be forced to stop selling, and eBay will obviously lose out.

·2 years agoAnyway, I wanted to add that in case of problems, it’s best to contact eBay support directly.
Go to this web page and then scroll all the way to the bottom where it says "ask us to call you"

OP2 years agoLet's hope so. Because otherwise I don't know how to do it.
Yet I imagine that Postepay accounts are widely used.
Maybe those who have one could let us know the procedure they followed.

·2 years agoThe identification procedures have changed over the years.
Obviously there have been attempts at UNAUTHORIZED / UNRECOGNIZED registrations by third parties who still had online access to the bank account in order to make the micro-deposits, and most likely it became necessary to add this further security measure.
The purpose of these documents is to certify that the person activating the eBay selling account is actually the holder of the current account.
Keep in mind that with the new regulations, see DAC7, unauthorized use of an account in a family member's name could have tax repercussions, but fraudulent situations on sales could also occur.
In any case, let us know whether sending both documents results in the account activation being accepted.
Best regards.
