After changing the sales rules behind the backs of its long-time users, eBay and whoever keeps changing the rules, which already weren’t very protective of sellers to begin with, now makes them even more vulnerable.Those who have been on this platform for twenty years and have all positive feedback like me have fewer protections than someone who sets up an account as a guest, with 0 feedback, with throwaway addresses where the goods are presumably sent and then maybe come back damaged, different, or not as described, while meanwhile the buyer disappears with the refund and your goods along with them. If I refuse to accept the return of an item and to refund, I demand that this rule be respected and not bypassed, since returns are often used to scam people. Guest accounts should not exist at all because they are scammers' favorite weapon; 0-feedback or negative-feedback accounts should be managed, as was possible years ago, by the seller themselves and not by eBay, so as to prevent them from buying and putting the seller at risk. Users with 0 feedback, registered on the same day of purchase with a guest account and an unverified delivery address, should be able to be excluded through the seller's options, and eBay should introduce stricter authenticity checks such as a face photo, ID, and proof of residence.
