Suspicious buyer - how should I handle it?
Good evening, today I noticed that a suspicious buyer, with only 4 feedback, bought an item I put up for sale. The suspicious thing, though, is that I didn't receive the usual eBay email that notifies you of the sold item and gives you a summary of everything. How should I handle this? It's also an item worth over 100 euros and I wouldn't want to fall for some possible scam.

OP2 years agoThanks first of all for the reply.
The link you pointed me to doesn’t open the page indicated, where exactly should I check? I forgot to tell you that I’m not a professional seller (if that can help).
If I go into the sales page the payment shows as completed (paypal) but I haven’t received the ebay confirmation email where it says that I sold the item with the full summary.. In the email that arrives, by the way, it always says when the funds will be available.

·2 years agoIf the link I included doesn't work with your account, it's because we have two different management / viewing platforms.
Basically you need to go to 1) My eBay --> 2) sales 3) orders 4) all orders and then from there open the sale details.
In the sale details you find the buyer's address and also the payment details.
If the email hasn't arrived for you (but usually you do get the other emails from eBay) try checking the SPAM / JUNK MAIL folder.
Otherwise, it's an issue with the email account that filters the emails upstream and doesn't even let them reach SPAM.
In any case, if in the order summary you find that the payment has been completed, you can still proceed with shipping the item.

·1 year agoHi, I also had a similar sale. A buyer who recently signed up, with no address and an unmistakably foreign name. They paid! My doubt is whether they’ll later claim that the package doesn’t contain what was paid for? How can I protect myself, given that the payment is on hold by eBay?

If you’ve run into problems with the address, you can cancel the sale by entering as the reason that there are issues with the shipping address.
To be fair, I’d contact the user and explain that with an incorrect or incomplete address you can’t proceed with fulfilling the order.

The fact that the buyer has only 4 feedback isn’t a sign of danger.
Go here: https://www.ebay.it/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
Next to the sold order, click on "order details" corresponding to the sale you’re interested in
Then from there you’ll see the buyer’s address (check that it’s an existing address and that it doesn’t contain errors or omissions)
Then also check whether the payment has been made, you’ll see all the payment details.
Alternatively check your mailbox because eBay also sends the confirmation of payment receipt by email.
Once you’ve verified these two things: 1) that the address is entered correctly 2) that the payment has been received, you can proceed with shipping the item.
If you have any other questions, just ask.
