·2 years agoAlways keep in mind that in the last ten years there has been a runaway acceleration in counterfeits and duplicates of everything related to numismatic collecting, militaria, antiques. They have thrown themselves into it headlong, banking on the fact that with the increase in mass sales there is a continually growing number of gullible people who have no deep knowledge and only limit themselves to buying from whoever offers an item of possible interest. Everything is passed off as genuine and anything can become a sales opportunity. In this landscape, where everything is being pushed through a reckless media barrage to which we are subjected every day, grandpa's dentures can become the original prosthesis of the Eskimo king. Even in new goods, defective, low-quality items are produced which, even if flagged by the company's quality department, are still put on the market so as not to miss out on the contribution margin. The imperative is to sell, sell. Even if out of 10 sales, eight come back to haunt you. But there you have it.

·2 years agoOpen a dispute for an item that doesn't match. It's possible that eBay will ask you for a signed declaration from a third party attesting to the falsity, which you'll have to attach to the complaint case.
Or.... go straight to the Guardia di Finanza with the coin, declaring that you bought it in good faith. They'll re-grade it for you and issue a declaration. With that, open a dispute.
