Dispute over defective item
Good morning, I bought an iPhone 11 category A+ as it was listed in the ad by idearicondizionato. Unfortunately, after a simple fall, the screen detached from the chassis without breaking, and we therefore realized that it had neither been glued nor secured with the two screws on the casing. In addition, some screws were missing inside on the audio component, which made it loose, and the battery was not the original one. I opened a dispute with eBay since the seller never replied to me and the appeal also did not go through. I called and explained that if, after the fall, the screen had broken or any part of the phone had chipped, I would not have turned to eBay's warranty, but instead the screen had actually come off as if it were just resting there, and that is how we also noticed the other issues inside. I wanted to leave negative feedback, but I can't because the seller handed me the phone in person without any box, cable, or anything else, and verbally told me I had a 6-month warranty. I am writing here because I do not think it is right that for a job that turned out to be incomplete and poorly done, eBay still does not consider at least a partial refund for poor workmanship.

·3 years agoAs you were already told, for in-person handoff eBay sends a QR code to the buyer, who has to have it scanned by the seller as proof that the item was delivered; this certifies the transaction.
If you didn't follow the correct procedure, you cannot make any support request. Also, I can confirm that unfortunately categories like computers, phones, jewelry, etc. are high risk for scams. All the more reason to carefully follow the procedures set out by eBay.

·3 years agoThat said, the advice you received is correct, it should be remembered that it is pure madness to buy a high-end cell phone (and not) online, let alone a refurbished one. Consumer IT and telephony are full of pitfalls of every kind, and it is easier to get out unscathed from a hot zone in Ukraine than from a purchase in this sector. It’s like the car enthusiast who goes to buy the vintage car of his dreams at an unbeatable price. When he sees it at the dealership, it seems like the deal of the century. But he doesn’t see the chassis, covered in tar to hide the rust, the mechanical defects and the bodywork flaws, which the unscrupulous seller has perfectly hidden under layers of painted filler. The car starts and runs, but after the purchase it’s one problem after another. And to get it in proper order you have to pay a fortune. It should be taken as given by now that there are high-risk categories.

·3 years agoI’d add that, if you can’t leave feedback, the transaction took place outside of eBay.
Did you receive the QR code to exchange with the seller at the time of delivery?

OP3 years agoSince the delivery was done by hand, I had to leave in the feedback that it had been delivered by hand.
I did not receive any QR code

·3 years agoThere is no trace of any feedback left.
So there was something not very transparent about the purchase as well. When there is an in-person handoff, eBay sends a code to the buyer, who has the seller scan it as proof that the delivery took place.

·3 years agoGood morning,
if it hadn't fallen, you probably wouldn't have noticed anything... but it did fall, so you can't delegate the responsibility... for the fall... to others.
You can't even hold ebay responsible, since it didn't sell you anything.
As for the transaction, if you also paid on delivery, you can't ask anyone for help...
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoI paid with PayPal....the delivery was made by hand. The drop was my responsibility and I assure you I would have preferred the screen to break but the phone to stay intact, and not realize that on an iPhone 11 that was sold to me as Grade A+ the job had been done so poorly.

·3 years agoIf the hand delivery is not "certified" and the dispute has already been decided against you, you can only complain about the poor workmanship... with the seller...
Kind regards.
