I bought a washer-dryer listed as used but in good condition, paying by credit card. When it arrived, besides being dirty and covered with cobwebs and leaves, it had several breaks that made it unusable, and I reported this several times to the seller, attaching photos and a description of the damage.
I filed a complaint with Ebay, which wrote to me saying it had accepted it. At that point the seller opens a dispute, after which he asks me for my phone number and says he is willing to take the machine back and return the money (also by message on Ebay). We agree privately and I, at his request, closed the dispute saying that we had reached an agreement and specifying that the agreement provides for the pickup of the machine and the return of the money.
If he does not keep to the agreement, what can I do?

·1 year agoIt’s incredible, judging by what’s reported on these pages, the amount of junk that’s circulating on sales platforms. The buyer who receives an item different from how it was described, defective, or completely damaged, is covered by the eBay guarantee and can request a refund by reaching an agreement with the seller within three days. Who is responsible for shipping in any case. After this deadline, if the result is unsatisfactory, you can ask for eBay’s direct intervention to get a refund and return the piece of junk. It’s that 'we’ll settle it privately' and I decide 'at the seller’s suggestion' to close the dispute that makes me wrinkle my nose. No one has ever asked me to get a refund for something that didn’t match my description, but the return rules should be studied further and read carefully to avoid hasty moves that raise doubts and that can backfire in various cases.
