Fake feedback?
Hi everyone, I should buy a product from a private seller and the price seems really good to me, I checked their reviews and they have 13 feedback entries, all positive (attached), based on your experience could they be fake?

·3 years agoThe first thing I notice is that almost all the feedback the seller received was as a buyer. So they’re not indicative of their history as a seller. You need to select the feedback the user received as a seller.
Even if it were their first sale, that doesn’t mean they’ll behave badly; if anything, any problems could arise from the user’s lack of experience as a seller, for example if they haven’t linked a valid IBAN for receiving the payments or if they’re waiting to receive the credits without knowing that for new sellers or those who aren’t very active there is a 14-day minimum hold on the funds, so they have to ship before seeing the money credited.
Consider whether you’re interested in the item; in any case, you have the eBay guarantee tools available if they don’t ship within the stated timeframe or if they send you a non-conforming item.

OP3 years agoI saw that it has no seller-side feedback, in that case I saw that you can also pay with PayPal, so I’d have an extra layer of protection, I think I’ll do that.

·3 years agoDefinitely, with Paypal you have additional protections.

·3 years agoIn any case, eBay also provides adequate protection in the first 30 days. In fact, if you contact PayPal right away, they will send you back to eBay since these are PayPal's terms for purchases on marketplaces. Then if you don't resolve it within 30 days, there's also chargeback if you paid by credit card (even through PayPal). So as a buyer you have very little to fear.

OP3 years agoThanks everyone for the info, I'd like to know if it's normal that for an online auction 2 identical bids are made by the same buyer a few days apart, I'm attaching the screenshot.

·3 years agoHe may have "corrected" his previous bid, entering a higher amount for automatic bids... that's normal.
Kind regards.

·3 years agoit could be: actually they are not two identical bids, but one is higher (in any case the maximum amounts set are not visible, as per the auction rules);
NOTE: honestly I think it’s not a good strategy to do it this way...... some people do it'

From the attached photo you can see that user 7***7 made an initial bid of 600 euros, confirming the auction's starting base price on May 16.
Then on May 19 they decided to place an additional bid (presumably with the maximum amount they are available to pay).
So yes, in this case it is normal that you see two bids from this buyer.
Kind regards.
