Good morning everyone,I find myself in the situation described in the subject of the message.Basically, I won the auction for an EU private seller who was offering “free shipping” to Italy as well. After paying the seller straight away, they contacted me saying that I hadn’t paid for shipping and that I should arrange a courier myself for pickup. When I said no, and after a couple of exchanges (including a screenshot from me of the listing with “free shipping” clearly visible), I ended up offering the seller either to cancel the sale or that I would cover the shipping costs, but only on condition that any extra payments go through the eBay platform (and on this I’d like your advice, because I’m afraid I may have proposed something that’s not technically feasible). How do you suggest I handle this? Taking for granted the good faith of someone who (perhaps) carelessly got their sums wrong, what would you advise me to do so I don’t risk being the one who gets taken for a ride?Secondly, what is the “netiquette” for feedback in the event that the vendor hopefully cancels everything, and in the event that I instead have to file a claim for an item not received or not as described?
