The BRT Fermopoint scans the code on the package but I don't receive any acknowledgement email
Summary: The discussion concerns a problem with BRT’s Fermopoint service, where the parcel code is scanned but the user does not receive any confirmation email that it has been taken in charge. Several participants share their experiences and look for solutions to resolve the issue. The conversation takes place at different points in time and shows an exchange among users about this recurring problem with the service.
Good morning, as per the subject, on Monday morning I went to my usual BRT Fermopoint to ship two parcels, I’ve used this shop hundreds of times so I wasn’t worried about anything, but as of today I still hadn’t received the BRT pickup email, I went back to the shop to ask for an explanation and the owner had not scanned the code because he forgot, he does it in front of me, I clearly see the app’s green OK. But then, a few hours pass, and I still don’t receive any pickup email, I checked SPAM too and everything.
Am I wrong or is the email practically immediate after the scan?
What can I do? Contact BRT? I’m already late with these shipments and one buyer needed their item urgently

·11 months agoI received the handoff email and the tracking shows delivery to the pickup point. Unfortunately, though, the tracking still hasn’t been updated with the courier pickup and departure even though the courier came by to collect it from the pickup point.
Package delivered on the evening of the 26th, yesterday the 27th it left as confirmed by the pickup point, but the tracking is still stuck. Is this normal?

·11 months agoIt's "normal", the BRT tracking isn't very detailed compared to other couriers, and updates are slow. Sometimes it can even stay stuck for 2 days and then suddenly the package is out for delivery...
Best regards.

·11 months agoEvery now and then there are also good news, and I noticed that BRT has adapted to the standards of the other couriers by adding tracking starting from when the parcel is dropped off at the point.
Now even if the pickup email arrives quite a bit later, it is still possible to check that the operator has done everything correctly by checking the tracking right away.

·1 year agoI'm not sure if it applies to your case, but for the past three weeks the BRT labels via packlink often aren't read by the barcode scanner or the scan isn't complete even though they're perfectly sharp and printed with a laser. I've already complained to paclink but it's useless, they say they'll fix it but the problem remains. I wouldn't want the scan to have been done badly because of a label issue, like happened to me these days

·1 year agoCould it be due to the fact that lately the BRT labels issued by eBay's shipping manager are not standard size?
The labels appear narrower than the standard size on both sides.
I went ahead and downloaded the label in the correct format through the eBay shipping site.
spedizioni.ebay.it
Anyway, they never get anything right ......
Best regards.

·1 year agoI just saw that you opened a discussion on the support board between users; unfortunately, that board is closed to all users except 3 active users who frequent it.
The solution to the problem I had already proposed in another discussion where I specified that you had to go to the site spedizioni.ebay.it
Unfortunately these are rather trivial BUGS / errors, which could easily be avoided by those who manage the platform.
Unfortunately, this is what we have to deal with and we have to adapt, but above all be careful with every aspect of the sale because then any technical issue ends up being entirely the seller's responsibility.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

·1 year agoI wanted to let you know that:
Today, Monday July 21 around 9:20 a.m., I dropped off a package at a BRT pickup point and the email confirming receipt came as usual around 12:00 p.m.
Best regards.

·1 year agoSame situation here too, I dropped off the package at a Fermopoint two days ago and I haven't received any email, the tracking hasn't started, basically it's as if I had never shipped it.. and I confirm, the email is very important in case the package gets lost

·2 years agoit depends on what you mean by takeover: if you mean the confirmation that the package has been picked up by the BRT driver at the fermopoint, you only see it from the tracking on the BRT website and in any case it may appear the following day.....
then, of course, there may be some IT issue and so the data might appear once the above problem has been resolved.....

·1 year agoIt happened to me too just now, usually the Taking in Charge email arrived almost immediately.I called the courier (who I know) and he told me he had picked it up and that my packages were there in the van. After a while I called the pickup center, and the owner confirmed to me that the courier had come by and picked it up, but that she doesn't send the email herself, Bartolini does directly, and that's true.Let's hope everything goes well. So far I haven't received any email... but only a few hours have passed, though usually they arrived almost immediately.
daxsisko
·1 year agoas far as I know the only email that arrives (if it arrives..... since sometimes if there are any problems it is nowhere to be found....) is the one sent automatically when the package is scanned at the pickup center ( so when it has NOT yet been picked up by the BRT driver )
cartolibreria_cama
·1 year agoIt's a mess, let's hope for the best .. because this time I didn't receive any email of Taking Charge, and if by chance they mess up and the tracking doesn't show up (it happened to me once) you can't even get a refund.

·1 year agoIt should be remembered that Fermopoints can work properly for a certain period of time, but then suddenly be subject to a whole series of unpredictable situations that throw the network into total chaos, as highlighted by users. These sudden confusions, where one person says one thing and another confirms something else, stem from the fact that the BRT network is vast and varied, comprising shops of various kinds and types, including newsstands, tobacconists, and the like. Making it difficult to search for a specific point. Moreover, communication and parcel handling can be very different for each pickup point, creating a lot of uncertainty. One of the causes of the greatest confusion depends on the fact that they are not all the same. Some are managed directly by Bartolini, while others are affiliated points with a completely different management model. Pickup and delivery methods can vary depending on the type of shipment, and moreover, often when contacting the Fermopoints, there are no immediate certainties since the shop staff changes during the day and, as happens everywhere here, the different shift worker knows nothing about what happened before them. I agree with cartolibreria-cama that it is total confusion. Perhaps, once everything has been concluded, it would be a good idea to definitively part ways with this type of service.

·1 year agoYou have to be aware that security and convenience usually don’t go hand in hand.
Usually these are businesses like (newsstands, bars, tobacconists) that, to make some extra money (around 50 cents per package), have to take on
- handling incoming parcels, keeping them safe, scanning the code and handing them over to the courier
- handling outgoing parcels (kept in custody for up to 14 days), registering them, delivering them and filling in the details.
And the problems double when the seller is conveniently located with the departure pickup point and the buyer chooses the destination pickup point service.
If you want, ebay offers the option to disable the pickup point service.

·1 year agoput simply:
the email that arrives is only the confirmation that it has been taken in charge by the pickup point (and so for Ebay it has no value, since the tracking still doesn’t appear on the BRT site)
tracking happens later (as already pointed out before.....): this has value for Ebay since it can be verified on the courier’s website
so: I wouldn’t worry about whether the email arrived or not .... since practically it has no value at all in case of a dispute for an item not delivered...

·1 year agoSame situation, in the end did everything go through fine? I don't know how much weight this email carries, but at least usually it gives you the peace of mind that everything was done correctly

·1 year agoAside from the acceptance email (which usually arrives after the fermopoint has scanned the barcode on the package), every fermopoint is a story of its own since they are usually private businesses that deal with other things.
If a fermopoint behaves fraudulently / dishonestly, it can carry out various actions to the detriment of the person sending / receiving a package.
If problems arise with the fermopoint or alleged ones, the responsibility almost always falls on the seller.
Best regards
onlyjody
·1 year agoNo, I looked at the BRT app of several fermopoints and they all have the same app with identical functionality regardless of whether they're tobacco shops/stores or any other type of business.
Then the acceptance email is generated by a BRT @ host (you can see this from the sender of the email you receive) and has nothing to do with the fermopoint, so if there are email generation issues at a given moment you'd run into them at any fermopoint you went to at that time. It makes sense to ask online for feedback, so if you see that others are receiving the emails regularly it means something isn't right.
The problem remains BRT's fault anyway because, unlike all the other operators, it neither sends the email immediately after scanning nor starts tracking immediately, so you have to make sure the person scanning the label does everything correctly or you only notice the problem once you've already been gone for a long time.
Too bad about this lack of attention to this aspect, because even though BRT has great rates I often end up choosing something else even if it costs more just so I don't have to live in constant anxiety.

·1 year agoWell, this is a topic that, in my opinion, isn’t even worth considering. Obviously, if I’m told that for whatever reason the scan can’t be done while I’m there, I say I’ll come back later (then maybe I’ll never go back to that place, but I think that’s the best response to avoid pointless arguments).
Then if someone has built a relationship of trust with a particular Fermopoint and leaves their parcels there without a scan, that’s a personal choice and you’re aware of the risks you’re taking.

·1 year agoIt happened to me too yesterday and today, I think it's a BRT bug at this point, I have several shipments delivered to the Fermapoint that result as never taken over, let's hope for the best, the email is very important as it is needed for the package refund in case of loss, without it you lose the package and the money

·2 years agoIt seems that this notice was present yesterday, I'm reproducing it exactly from another post that complained about the same thing: ...... July 02, 2024 There are delays in the automatic creation of shipping documents for BRT, InPost, and Poste Italiane. They have not yet given us any resolution timeframe and the services may be temporarily removed from our platforms. As soon as the service is restored, you will be able to print the label directly from the after-sales page of your order.

OP2 years agoBut, correct me if I'm wrong, are you talking about the automatic printing of shipping labels, right? I created the label successfully; it's the sticking point that seems unable to send the pickup request to BRT
marioelegio
·2 years agoI think their system is down and that they therefore have general problems that can range from issuing labels to handling pickups, but these are just my assumptions.
