The seller accepted the return request, but is replying to me with insults. What should I do?
This week I bought an item on eBay from a private seller with 274 positive feedbacks. When I received the product (a PSVITA), I noticed that the screen had superficial scratches and an error every time I turned on the console. I asked for a return through eBay with photos attached, and the seller replied to me "console startup error"???
I wonder why you have 100% positive feedback????"
I told him I was available to do a video call to show him, and he replied:
"Forget it, you're a smartass, I figured it out from day one. 150 € means nothing to me, but smartasses like this really piss me off. Remember that everything comes back, sooner or later."
So he accepted my return (even though he didn't issue me any prepaid label). I'm afraid that, given the person in question, as soon as he receives the item he'll deliberately break it so he doesn't have to refund me at all — how can I avoid this? Also, would it be possible to report him to eBay?

·3 years agoYou can report it to ebay: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/segnala-un-problema-con-un-venditore?id=4022
If he doesn’t send you the prepaid shipping label, ask ebay to step in: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/chiedi-ebay-di-intervenire-acquirenti?id=4701
Make a video of the product as you pack it; it won’t be irrefutable proof, but it will carry the same weight as any accusations he may make.

·3 years agoAs you were already told for the return label you can ask eBay. Also for insults you can contact support to report it and have them read the messages.
Before shipping, take photos and videos of the item.

·3 years agoIf you have opened a claim for an item not as described, the seller must:
A) Contact you to arrange pickup at their expense by sending a courier to collect it.
B) Contact you to send you the money corresponding to the shipping cost.
C) Provide you with a prepaid return label to attach in the dispute so you can download it, print it, and apply it to hand it over, presumably at the post office.
So if the seller doesn’t get in touch, you need to contact eBay support via chat or by phone and explain the problem, then they’ll take care of helping you.
Kind regards.

·3 years agothe other users who replied have already given you guidance on this
as far as the process goes, you need to wait until May 31 as indicated (the seller has until that date to send you the label..... but probably, given the circumstances, they won't do it easily ) , this however doesn't prevent you from contacting support and getting further clarification

·3 years agoIn fact it's better to contact support to get further clarification and provide any other evidence, but above all contact support asking to be called and speak with an operator.
