the seller account no longer exists

The seller from whom I purchased "No longer a registered user" and my order was never shipped. I asked to cancel the order citing as the reason "It won’t arrive in time." How should I proceed? Did I give the wrong reason?

On eBay the buyer has the option to cancel an order if it has not yet been marked as shipped.

So you canceled the order with the reason: "it won’t arrive on time"

Good, what outcome did you get from eBay?

Check the email to see if the cancellation went through.

It doesn’t seem to me that eBay decides, not even if the item hasn’t been marked as shipped yet.

Even if the process for requesting cancellation is now simpler, it will always be the seller who decides whether to grant it or not.

So if the order is not cancelled within 3 days, you’ll need to open a refund request for an item not received as soon as possible.
