New scam for sellers
I came across this new scam
shipped item (new and sealed) quickly and tracked
to the buyer who, as soon as he receives it, opens a dispute saying that the product is not new, then after 2 days he closes the dispute asking the credit card issuer to cancel the transaction, he sends me back a package with a power bank inside, while I had sent him AirPods pro2 and original Apple wireless charger, I make all the reports with photos to Ebay and……..
I lose both the money and the items because Ebay doesn’t protect sellers(almost 600 positive feedback) thanks!!

·3 years agoI would add that you were also targeted because you were "private"... and generally considered to have less experience and be easier to "scam"... especially when selling new and valuable items.

·3 years agoUnfortunately, you ran into a scammer who first opened a dispute on ebay because both paypal and the credit card issuer, before accepting a claim, ask whether you have tried to resolve the dispute with ebay.
When situations like this happen, there is little hope of coming out on top.
The item you sold lends itself very well to possible scam attempts because it is a very sought-after item and easy to resell. Most likely you ran into a buyer who is not interested in the item itself but in the money from its resale.
