Before making a shipment, I always check whether the address provided by the buyer is not incorrect

Checking my customer's shipping address through Google, I don't get any positive results... I call the customer on his mobile and he tells me it's a security office where their employees have any orders delivered.... in response to that, not wanting to take any risks, I sent a clear message asking for a valid address and, if possible, the name of the requester too.... as of 11:00 p.m. tonight I still haven't received a reply and until I do I don't trust shipping to the address they listed.... I kindly ask the eBay staff for advice, and if you can help me by getting in touch with this security office.... etc. etc. to get a certain address... otherwise I'll have to cancel the order and give up your transfer of funds..... eBay collaborators NO, more than anything users who feel able to provide useful, sensible answers YES

Here you are given answers based on the experience of other users like you, we don't have special powers and we aren't given any tokens / freebies or paid by eBay for this kind of service.

What you're asking for in the part I quoted couldn't even be provided by an official eBay collaborator.

If the one placing an Order is Pinco Pallino and I have to ship to Fiorella Mannoia, I might end up thinking it’s a scam where the person placing the order could say that my PostePay and the notebook where I wrote my passwords were stolen...... I sent a message through the Order and was told it was his Wife.... I made the shipment.... what did I do wrong?

First of all, according to eBay rules, you have to ship to the address provided by the buyer if it is a valid existing address, with ZIP code, street, and house number, and the first and last name are valid and not made up.

It is perfectly FINE to do checks on the address (I do that too), but too much caution creates problems for your account in case of cancellation.

Also, calling the buyer and DEMANDING a different address is NOT OK because it is forbidden by the rules.

If you call the buyer and ask for another address, you put yourself at risk because then, in the event of a dispute, it turns out that you did not ship to the address provided on eBay and you lose both the item and the money.

Then there is also the privacy issue, you can’t go bothering the buyer if a check shows the address exists; if it’s a security office, what would the problem be, sorry?

If the package is marked as delivered, then you’re all set.

If the buyer isn’t home and prefers to have the package sent to work, that’s even better, since it avoids the risk of problems with non-delivery due to the recipient being absent.

Then again....... if you know the rules well, all these "scruples" on the seller’s part are unnecessary because, in the event of tracking that shows the wrong address with the package returned to sender,

the seller, in the event of disputes, is protected by eBay since the buyer is responsible for providing a valid delivery address.

assuming that, as already pointed out by those who posted before me, this is not support but the user forum (also, on this point I’m a repeat offender, see a post from a few months ago....), I confirm what the other posters wrote;

so, in short :

either cancel it ( ... explaining why.....)

or ship to the address indicated ( .... it’s risky to do otherwise to a "modified" address ..... )

.... what remains to be understood is exactly why, in your opinion, it’s an incorrect address....

You're right to check the shipping address, I always do too.

Keep in mind, though, that if you cancel you might receive negative feedback; on the other hand, if you ship to the address provided by the buyer, you're in the clear.

Obviously, if the address is incomplete (the street number is missing) or doesn't exist, it's better to cancel.

If, however, the address turns out to be real after checking it on Maps, you can ship with your eyes closed.

Keep in mind that if the package isn't delivered because the recipient is absent, you're covered against any claims because you can prove that you shipped and attempted delivery.
