In addition to what marioelegio wrote, I add that: I recommend you point this out to the seller.
You tell them that if they are not available to issue the partial refund, you will be forced to return everything by opening a complaint for item not as described, with the resulting return shipping costs to be paid by them (the seller)
Don't worry, they will answer you 😎
Kind regards.

Granted, I hadn't checked his feedback profile before replying, but now that I have I notice that:
The seller is a new seller with zero feedback and, most likely due to inexperience and lack of familiarity with the platform, didn't know how to handle this unexpected issue.
Obviously this doesn't justify or excuse the seller's behavior.
In my opinion, going down the dispute route would have been the best choice, but most likely:
- he didn't want to return the item
- he'd already had enough of dealing with cumbersome and bureaucratic processes and preferred to end it this way.
It should also be added that:
- negative feedback doesn't solve problems and should be used as a last resort.
- The negative feedback he left is not appropriate, because writing "seller to avoid" is a judgment on the person and not on what went wrong in this sale.
The feedback would in theory be removable upon request, but I think the seller won't even bother because he doesn't seem particularly suited to this platform.
Kind regards.

·2 years agoYou made 1 decisive mistake, namely you accepted 1 agreement between the 2 of you as private individuals that eBay cannot intervene in: the seller suggested that you buy 1 item on your own (in this case the missing part) and then disappeared.
Sorry if I tell you to smash your car against 1 wall and then I'll pay you back for it, would you do it? Obviously I disappear and whoever’s seen is seen.
Aside from my view, which is meant as 1 criticism to make you think so you don't make the same mistake again in the future, you should have followed the advice the other users had already given you and opened 1 claim for an item not as described in the listing, so with payment of the return shipping costs at the seller's expense.
The negative Feedback will not get you the missing part nor the refund of the 8 euros. You should have left it if the seller refused to refund you once the claim had been started.
If 30 days have still not passed from the estimated delivery date on eBay of your purchase, open the claim for item not as described explaining that 1 part of what was stated in the listing is missing and without mentioning your purchase of the missing part from another seller at the seller's suggestion; eBay couldn't care less about this part since it is not 1 transaction between you and this seller who shipped you only 1 piece.

·2 years agoIf the shipment was incomplete and the seller doesn't meet you halfway with a partial refund, you can only return everything and get a full refund. The seller will also have to pay the return shipping costs upfront.
