Payment received by bank transfer
I put a mobile phone up for sale, setting the following payment methods:
Now a buyer has purchased the item, and has made a bank transfer to me, eBay is asking me to enter my IBAN on the platform so that the buyer
"To receive payments, you must provide your bank details. To avoid restrictions on your selling account, please provide this information by Nov 29, 2023."
Now who guarantees me that once I have shipped and the item has been received, the buyer won't open a dispute for item not received?

Once eBay initiates a payment, the funds will be deposited directly into your current account and will be available within the normal bank processing times. Check the payment information for updates. |

And yet you have already sold 105 items with this account......
In the past, when you sold with bank transfer/postepay/paypal, how did you have proof that the shipment had been made? Does tracking and/or the waybill with confirmation of the address provided by the buyer and/or by ebay mean anything to you?

You put a 350-euro smartphone up for sale and sold it without really understanding how it works, and only now are you starting to have doubts.
Just think of the buyer who may be waiting for their item to give as a gift and has no idea about this forum post.
Anyway, the buyer can't send you a bank transfer; paying by bank transfer is prohibited by ebay rules and, among other things, it's not really possible to do it.
The buyer pays with paypal, credit card, google pay or apple pay and then the money goes to ebay; in the meantime you have to ship the item and then ebay sends you the money via a bank transfer.

·2 years agoas Sika700 said (for info also see the link he указал ) , evidently it has been a very long time since you last sold on eBay with the relative account ( about two years ) , so to receive payments you MUST connect a current account with IBAN , for tracking you then have to enter it yourself with the relevant courier you shipped with;
for the rest the usual eBay rules apply , so if it really doesn’t arrive or if the item is not as described for the buyer, what is stated in the above rules applies ( but this stage has existed for many years.... )

Are you sure the messages came from ebay?
Considering it's a phone, I'm afraid it's a Nigerian scam attempt.

The answer is you, who with tracking and proof of delivery can guarantee to eBay and to yourself that you shipped the item.
It’s different if they open a return request for an item not as described... nobody can guarantee that!
