Return request then canceled by the buyer

I sold an item for which, later on, a return process was started. Since the reasons were not valid and the item had also been visibly damaged by the buyer, I refused. At that point, the buyer gave up the return, stating so twice via messages through eBay. However, the platform keeps asking me to accept the return and tells me that my funds are blocked. I try to contact phone support without success. What can I do?

If a dispute case is opened for item not as described, you cannot refuse to accept the return unless...... you are able to PROVE through EVIDENCE taken from eBay messages that the item arrived intact and then the buyer tampered with it or damaged it.
That is not easy to prove, but not impossible if the buyer states it explicitly.

It is not enough for the buyer to give up the return by writing it in the return case; they must do it by clicking the cancel / close this return button, otherwise it is NORMAL that eBay asks you to accept the return.

Yes, it is NORMAL that eBay asks you to accept the return because the buyer must close the case themselves by clicking the button.
What can you do? Contact the buyer and ask them to close the case.
Alternative: The return case requires you to provide a return label and for the buyer to ship the item within the required time frame.
If you do not provide a return label and if the buyer does not ship the item within the time limit, entering the tracking code, the case ends with nothing happening.
So in this case you must wait for the natural expiry of the claim period.

If the return process was opened on Paypal, communication with ebay generally takes 20 to 25 days... so you just have to be patient.
